As I step down from the role of U.S. Attorney, I feel tremendous gratitude. To have had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people, on behalf of the United States in the cause for justice, has been awesome. Together we can meet all challenges. God bless the USA!
Two photos from the RFK Main Justice building in D.C. One is the Great Hall. The statues in the front represent the Majesty and Spirit of Justice (created in the 1930s for that space). The other is the interior courtyard. Latin words on the wall pair privilege & obligation.
This is a public thank you to the journalists who have covered the work of our office during my tenure as U.S. Attorney. In my view, your work is indispensable to our efforts to deter misconduct and to promote justice. Thanks for doing what you do!
Re question about "Deep State" presence in Justice Dept, @BenCGlassman says career DOJ prosecutors such as in his office could triple their incomes in the private sector, are motivated by love of country and desire to pursue justice. https://t.co/To0LQ2NVtP
Opioids, stimulants, and all other unwanted drugs. This is the easiest and most effective thing every adult can do to help end the opioid epidemic and ensure that we don’t replace it with a different drug crisis.
Bring your expired, unused, and unwanted Rx drugs and #vaping cartridges and devices to a #TakeBackDay site near you between 10-2pm. Please remove batteries B4 dropping off electronic #cigarettes. https://t.co/vJNotWwtKW
Congratulations to SDOH AUSAs Andy Malek & Brenda Shoemaker on their AG Awards for Distinguished Service! Together with ATR, CIV, & our LE partners, they showed that the long arm of the law reaches to Korea for those who defraud the US military.
I agree. New @FBI UCR data are further evidence that interagency antiviolence
strategies are truly working in Cincinnati. Read more: https://t.co/9hVsUMPYmj.
Great work from our partners @SDOHnews, armed repeat felon taken off streets of @CityOfCincy for next 5+ years! Special thanks to AUSA Brucato and Crim Chief Ken Parker for their relentless effort in teaming with @CincyPD to reduce violence! @BenCGlassman
New @FBI UCR data show that violent crime in Columbus is down. Homicides were down over 30% from 2017 to 2018. Violent crime as a problem is very complicated. There’s no one size-fits-all solution. But I think we are on the right track in the Southern District of Ohio. /5
Working together to identify, investigate, federally prosecute, and incapacitate through prison sentences those responsible for a disproportionate share of violence--that’s smart on crime & is the foundation of #ProjectSafeNeighborhoods 2.0. 4/
When I say "us" and "we," I don’t mean just the US Atty’s Office. I mean ALL the federal, state, & local law enforcement and prosecuting agencies with which we regularly meet and partner to share intelligence and analytics and to de-conflict and strategize. 2/
Something’s missing from this column: us. @Theodore_Decker
is right that a small percentage of people are disproportionately responsible
for violence and that recidivist offenders should get longer sentences. That’s
exactly whom we seek to investigate and prosecute federally. 1/
Walking the halls of Main Justice earlier this week with current SDOH AUSA Dave DeVillers—who has been nominated by the President to be the next U.S. Attorney for our district.
Christopher A. King was taken into custody today by the @ColumbusPolice SWAT team. King was wanted for his alleged involvement in multiple murders at Players Paradise internet gaming café in Columbus on January 20, 2019.
Quite a way to start the week!
We are incredibly proud & honored to share in the recognition of Sgt. Knight, Off. Rolfes, Off. Campbell, Off. Carter, Off. Denlinger, & Off. Nabel in receiving the Medal of Valor bestowed by the @TheJusticeDept & awarded by @realDonaldTrump 1/2
It was a pleasure to speak with FBI Director Chris Wray in Columbus yesterday. In my view and experience, @FBI is a law enforcement agency of the highest caliber and professionalism. And no field office is better than @FBICincinnati. I'm grateful for the partnership.
