Quinn was 17, working as a barista, and living in their car.
Days before HS graduation, Starbucks fired them for union organizing. Their plans for a new apartment & college were put on hold.
But now a court has forced Starbucks to reinstate Quinn, with backpay and a promotion.
After last night's caucus results, we must confront the reality that Donald Trump has an excellent chance of winning the presidency.
If Democrats hope to remain in power, they must adopt a progressive agenda that the American people will vote FOR – not just rail against someone to vote AGAINST.
That means taking on corporate greed, ending starvation wages, and making health care a human right.
@azcentral The bad news is with almost anyone running for office you get a corporate shill.
I’m running for Senate, and you haven’t posted a word about me.
Money buys their seats. That money comes in large part from PAC donations.
I don’t accept money at all.

“Wealthiest city in state chooses to throw money at freezers for homeless dying of heat stroke rather than protect them from dying with shade chairs and cold beverages.”
We have a broken system.
We have to break the cycle of voting for their candidates.

An ominous sight has appeared in downtown Phoenix, where temperatures are expected to top 110°F for a 28th straight day — refrigerated containers designed to hold bodies. https://t.co/p5fCEZXLAe
America’s medical debt is $88B, while the top five pharmaceutical companies brought in $80B in profit last year alone.
The institutionalized greed of insurance and pharmaceutical companies is an economic plague on this country.
We need single-payer universal healthcare, and nothing less.

@SenSanders@sleepisocialist Bernie I’m happy to support you in the senate. Running a no money campaign makes getting these signatures far more difficult than it is for my opponents with their millions. I wouldn’t mind you putting my name out.
@RealTimBlack Tim, did his fellow officers immediately arrest him and take him in for assault charges?
No.
Why?
Because the number of officers deserving of that job and title is almost none.
We’ve got a lot to fix, and our policing is near the top of my list.

Politicians blaming homelessness on mental health or addiction issues is a deflection technique.
It is a complete abdication of moral responsibility for the way so many public policies have driven people into chronic and unbearable despair for decades.
During the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting (where 60 American citizens died at a country music festival) the singer on stage at the time was Jason Aldean. Without warning the crowd, he heroically dropped his mic and ran like a MF Josh Hawley on January 6th. Try that in a small town.
The attacks on Black History in education is as much about erasing empathy as it is erasing the horrors perpetuated during slavery. Empathy leads to equity and equality when others have a real understanding of the lasting effects of systemic abuse and oppression…

@azcentral Yes.
We can’t keep doing the bare minimum or worse, criminalizing homelessness.
We’re in Arizona…we have all the empty land you could wish for. Why do we not house the homeless?
We can, and we should, but our politicians are too craven to even consider it.
