With the ball, he completed 42/43 passes (98%), went 5/5 with his passes into the final third and carried the ball progressively 12 times. Need I remind you again that he's just 16?

He also completed both of his dribbles, had 3 touches in the opposition box and even produced an xG of 0.47 from two shots.

The most interesting part is the confidence. He isn't simply surviving against senior players. He's stepping forward, carrying the ball, progressing possession and competing physically.

With William Saliba injured, Arteta has a massive decision to make. Throwing a 16-year-old into that role would obviously be a huge gamble, but if his development continues at this rate, there is a case for giving him a pathway into the first team rather than automatically looking elsewhere.
