The Communities Delegation to the Unitaid Board represents people living with and affected by HIV, TB and Malaria and those co-infected with HIV and HCV.
Malaria at a crossroads: Progress at risk despite community-driven innovation.
Communities continue to drive lifesaving innovation, yet without sustained political will and global solidarity, decades of hard-won progress could slip away.

The Government of Kenya recently announced a US$7.8M investment to scale up maternal health products proven to help prevent postpartum hemorrhage.
Building on evidence generated through the AMPLI-PPHI programme, it's an important step towards country-led ownership and scale.
Lenacapavir represents a once-in-a-generation HIV prevention opportunity, if it reaches those who need it most.
Work is underway to ensure these innovations translate into equitable access for populations affected.
Innovation is advancing. Delivery determines impact.
More than 25 years ago, Louis Da Gama received a call about a resurgence in malaria.
Since then, innovation, partnerships and community action have helped save millions of lives. But progress remains fragile—and continued investment in new solutions is essential.
Did you know that @afrocab_hiv is conducting #LastMile+ outreaches, bringing lifesaving healthcare services directly to underserved communities?
Today, we are at Kinywante landing site in Uganda, providing health services including:
♦️HIV testing, ART, and linkage to care
♦️PrEP and PEP initiation
♦️Advanced HIV Disease (AHD) screening and CD4 testing
♦️Cervical cancer screening
♦️Contraception and SRHR services
♦️Nutrition support and counseling
♦️GBV screening and referral services
Communities at landing sites often face major barriers to healthcare access, including long distances to health facilities. That is why integrated outreach programs like these are critical for early diagnosis, treatment access, prevention, dignity, and continuity of care.
People-centered healthcare means taking services closer to the people, reducing missed opportunities for care, and ensuring that no one is left behind.

Children living with HIV are especially vulnerable, as their immune systems are still developing and the disease can progress quickly. Through the Unitaid funded THRIVE project, we are expanding access to child friendly tools and care so every child can grow and thrive. 👇
Real change happens when communities have a seat at the table. Honored to witness UNITAID championing partnerships that save lives and strengthen global health systems. @UNITAID_NGOs@vivian_j_joseph@UTDCommunities
This year, Unitaid marks 20 years of accelerating access to health innovations worldwide.
Since 2006, with partners, we’ve helped introduce 150+ innovations supporting HIV, TB, malaria and maternal health.
Innovation alone is not enough—access changes lives.
In Wakiso, Uganda, @afrocab_hiv brought together AHD stakeholders to finalize the THRIVE community interventions transition plan designed to support institutionalization into national systems to ensure continuity, ownership, and sustainability as the project approaches close-out.
Officiated by @WatitiStephen-Vice Chair, AHD Technical Working Group @MinofHealthUG , Uganda AIDS Commission Commissioner, and #AHD Ambassador.
Because sustained progress on AHD depends on ownership. These interventions live beyond the project when they’re embedded in systems, driven by local ownership, and built to last. #AHD #THRIVE
Today, we remember the lives lost, honor the resilience of those living with HIV, and renew our commitment to ending stigma and inequality. Together, through love, unity, and action, we can build healthier more compassionate and resilient communities. #candlelightmemorialday
A new Unitaid report shows TB gaps are not about missing tools, but system design. Health services often don’t reflect how people seek care, leading to missed diagnosis and treatment. Integrated, people-centered systems are needed to close access gaps. https://t.co/XFphKidbkM
In Zambia’s mining heartlands, TB threatens both health and livelihoods. TB survivor and advocate Maxwell Mumba shares how stigma, hunger and poverty stand in the way of prevention, and how communities are fighting back.

Grateful to our funding partner @Unitaid for the visit. Director Results & Climate Vincent Bretin joined us at Mbagathi County Hospital, Nairobi to see how @Unitaid’s support powers collaboration with AHD champions to prevent & address AHD through community-led care. #THRIVE#End

Malaria progress stands at a crossroads. Community-driven innovation is saving lives, but without sustained political will and global solidarity, decades of gains are at risk. We cannot afford to lose ground now. @UTDCommunities
