The Scholars to Storytellers workshop at the DCHA was a great success! It was wonderful to host faculty across many disciplines and departments to learn about how to move from academic research projects to commercial publishing.
Today we wrapped up the AY25-26 Chandler Seminars with Elizabeth Tarulisโs analysis of North American tobacco pipes in 17th-Century New England.
The Chandler Seminars have been made possible by the generous donations of DCHA friends Atty. John Chandler and Elizabeth Chandler.
Andrew Ertzberger, DCHA fellow, on (re)writing:
"Rewriting [once] felt exhausting or terrifying because it meant having to face the 'blank page.'
[Now] I often relish the opportunity to start over with a fresh set of thoughts not restricted by something previously written."
Congrats to Elizabeth Tarulis on the 2026 VOLunteer Distinction Award! Her research examines how English colonists in 17C New England adopted tobacco smoking and began producing pipes. Sheโs off to Jamestown Rediscovery this June as a Site Supervisor.
