I took this photo in Somalia a semi-arid area where many think nothing can grow. We were drilling a borehole, and at 204 meters deep, it gave over 60,000 litres of water per hour. This was a private investor.
Now let me ask, until when shall Africans keep receiving canned food as donations?
Why can’t we be helped to drill boreholes like this, farm our own food, and feed ourselves for generations?
Why can't our own governments prioritize water ,drill boreholes for communities instead of waiting for aid?
In Kirinyaga where I live, the previous government built a dam. Idle farms are now productive. Food is growing. People have hope.
I visited a neighboring East African country and saw similar boreholes everywhere. I was told the government had taken up the initiative. Why can’t we copy that?
If we don’t act now, a few years from today, we’ll be importing almost all our food. Not because we can’t grow it, but because we failed to water the soil we stand on.
We don’t need more canned food.
We need boreholes or dams .
We need seeds.
We need courage.
We need leaders who believe in us.
Let’s wake up!

I wish Dairy farmers would attend trainings at Dairy Institute in Naivasha. There's an untapped market in milk products! Selling raw milk will never get you out of the block!

“The death of a man without camels is not news.” – Somali proverb.
In pastoralist communities, camels are central to life, valued for sentiment, sustenance and survival.
Visited my camel farm.
The resilience of these animals mirrors the spirit of the people they sustain, a journey I reflect on in, 'For the Record,' my memoir.
Pixie farmer that's embraces patience closely. Also keeps a few cows, bee hives, sustains workers through Vegetables.
A story worth listening to.
Feel inspired.

Outside SADC;
a) Kenya & Uganda are largest coffee producers in Africa. They make $2.3 billion combined
b) Germany then buys Coffee beans from Kenya, resells it & makes $6.3 Billion per year
Germany which doesn’t produce coffee makes 3 times profit off Kenyan & Uganda Coffee !
I'm very proud that, the likes of @F_Kili@andrewk3360@KeKirwa and the rest of farming twitter have made the venture very attractive to Gen Zs. Kitambo ilikua ngumu kupata millennial anataka kuventure into farming. Let's keep the movement growing!
A single ton of paper requires 3 tons of trees- that's an area larger than Central Park!
1 acre of hemp can supply the same amount of paper, but hemp takes just a few months to grow, as trees take 20 to 80 yrs. But our MPs don't know the difference between hemp & marijuana
