We had broad and open discussions with the Permanent Representatives/Ambassadors of the member countries at UNESCO around the tea table in Baku.

I briefed my colleagues about Azerbaijan's regional peace agenda and cultural diplomacy policy and the destruction of our cultural-religious heritage by Armenia during the occupation. Our common opinion was that UNESCO belongs to all of us and the whole international community. We must protect and develop this institution further. @UNESCO can not be turned into a tool in the hands of any single person or reduced to the level of a department of the "Ministry of Foreign Affairs" of any country.

Almost every inch of land in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan are infested with landmines by Armenia throughout the years of military occupation. @unmas

4 April - International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action

As a result of Armenia's 30 year long military occupation, liberated territories of Azerbaijan are densely contaminated with the landmines by Armenia.

Mines, explosive remnants of war, and improvised explosive devices continue to cause death to our civilians and injury and impede reconstruction and rebuilding efforts and return of IDPs.

Civilians, as well as children, are among the victims.

Armenian planted landmines continue threatening the lives of innocent Azerbaijani civilians.

Today, four Azerbaijani civilians became victims of another landmine explosion.

Refusal by Armenia to provide accurate maps of landmines in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, delays the process of large-scale rehabilitation and reconstruction works as well as return of internally displaced persons and undermines peace building efforts in the region.

International community should bring together efforts to eliminate the landmine threat in Azerbaijan.

This year Novruz celebration in Azerbaijan is different from the ones we used to have. Novruz is celebrated with Novruz bonfires in the entire sovereign territories of Azerbaijan free from military occupation and gray zones. As it has been said Game Over!

While offering Novruz best wishes, we no longer say next year in Shusha or Khankandi. We are in Shusha, Khankandi, and other liberated lands with the spirit of Novruz.

DGAP now says it has canceled its “cultural heritage of Artsakh” event, which was planned for today in Berlin, and moved it to an online format. From the day one (Feb. 14) this propaganda event was announced, we rightfully protested against it, because it blatantly ignored the suffering of Azerbaijani people and the total destruction of Azerbaijani heritage by Armenia on its soil and in the formerly occupied territories of Azerbaijan. We protested because it promoted continued hatred over reconciliation. We asked how DGAP could ignore the well-documented fact that Armenia destroyed 65 Azerbaijani mosques, turning many into pigsties and cowsheds in the occupied territories? We urged the DGAP to hold a balanced event highlighting all the horrendous crimes committed against Azerbaijani people and their heritage by Armenia. If DGAP truly cares about cultural heritage and human rights of ALL people, as they claim, they should not reject our proposal and hold such an event in the near future with the participation of Azerbaijani and Armenian scholars. At this critical juncture in the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, especially following high-level peace talks held at the initiative of Germany in Munich & Berlin, it is of paramount importance to avoid one-sided and biased approaches, and support peace and reconciliation between Azerbaijani and Armenian people.
