Reports out of Siberia involving a suspected pneumonic-plague infection and nearly 200 people under medical observation deserve immediate U.S. preparedness—not panic, but preparation.

Mr. President, I urge you to direct HHS, CDC, FDA, BARDA, ASPR, NIH, DHS and the State Department to immediately:

• Assess the threat and continuously monitor the Siberian situation
• Secure and stockpile adequate supplies of FDA-approved antibiotics effective against Yersinia pestis
• Prepare a nationwide rapid-response protocol for suspected cases and exposed contacts
• Ensure hospitals, EMS and public-health departments have the necessary testing, PPE and treatment protocols

I’m going to say something I don’t usually say publicly.

My pilot car escort company has gone from doing up to $1,000 a day to almost nothing.

I’ve worked my ass off trying to build this business. I’ve made the calls, chased the leads, built relationships, learned the industry, invested what I had, and kept pushing when most people would have walked away.

And the frustrating part?

I know I can do this.

I have the knowledge.
I have the experience.
I have the equipment.
I have the work ethic.

What I’m missing right now is the right connection.

Maybe it’s a trucking company that needs reliable pilot car services.
Maybe it’s a dispatcher.
Maybe it’s a carrier moving oversized loads.
Maybe it’s a company that regularly needs escorts.
Maybe it’s simply someone who knows someone who needs what I do.

Whatever it is, I need to find that connection.

And unfortunately, a situation with my own father has played a major role in putting me where I am today. I never expected the person who should have been helping me build this thing to be one of the reasons I’m fighting so hard to keep it alive.

But I’m not looking for sympathy.

I’m looking for a door to open.

I’m almost out of money, almost out of leads, and running dangerously low on time—but I’m not out of ability.

So if you know someone in the oversized/overweight transportation industry, steel, precast, heavy haul, specialized hauling, trucking, logistics, dispatching, or anything related to OSOW transportation, I’m asking you to do one thing:

Make the connection.

You don’t have to give me anything.
You don’t have to invest in me.
You don’t have to solve my problems.

Just put me in front of someone who might need what I can do.

Let me take it from there.

Because I’m not asking for a handout.

I’m asking for an opportunity to prove what I can do.
