5 months ago, I tried to end my life. I was at rock bottom and didn’t think things would ever get better…
Well, I’m so glad to say I was wrong, and today I’m still here, celebrating my 32nd birthday 😊
Watching Trump talk about autism reminds me of the time we saw @almurray live and he said to the black cab driver sat in front of us ‘….you’re confusing knowledge with The Knowledge’.
PTSD still crippling at times. I’ve been retired 6 months. I look on my former colleagues media posts & have to admit I could never do that job again. 25 years literally broke my brain. Still get ridiculous emotions with no warning. The night terrors have calmed but still evil. I’m free of brain meds and wouldn’t swap that. But sick of the invasion. It’ll never leave me, I’ve learnt to cope. But wouldn’t wish this on the worst of the haters. Life’s moving on with my business but I miss the front line so much.
I was good at it. 5 Commendations, a National Police Bravery Award nomination, plus a few certificates and thank you’s and pride & enough stories for a book. .
It pains me that I had to go, that I couldn’t do it anymore. Almost a whole identity had to change. But I’m still fighting. Still onwards to the future. Having an amazing family, good friends (even on this hellsite) and good support is invaluable.
Thanks for listening.

Post I’ve been contemplating to do for the last few weeks but a year ago at my worst- I always promised myself I’d speak out if anything was going on.
About a month and a half ago I suffered my first ever panic attack whilst on a train to a concert. Suddenly was hit with vertigo, felt as if I was dying, heart was palpitating and I couldn’t breathe very well. Had no idea what it was but my mum comforted me and convinced my mind that I was infact okay. In the last few weeks I’ve suffered 2 bad panic attacks but since the first been in a constant loop of health anxiety. I’ll be honest I used to always think a panic attack was just a bit of anxiety but having experienced them I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.
Now I’ve been keeping it to myself the last few weeks as I wanted to get over them in private and I don’t think everything needs to be put on social media but I know a lot of people out there have suffered with them and do still suffer. So I felt putting my experience out there may be a comfort to some- just know you are never alone.
Slowly trying to get back into the running but may just need a little bit to get back to what it was like. Turning the comments off this post as that’s not why I’ve posted this but my dms are always open to those who are struggling ❤️
Spent 3 hours talking to the @guardian last week. The most emotional interview I’ve given, talking in details about my struggles with OCD, depression and mental health as well as the challenge it self. Thank you for this opportunity ❤️

Serious post for once.
As many know I’ve suffered horrendously. The bad days of 2018 & 2021 and 2023 to an extent. I’d not wish this on my worst enemy. The night terrors, the intrusive thoughts, the flashbacks. The non- verbal, the self imploding, the hiding away , the abstaining from crowds or groups, the constant exhausting scanning for risk & danger.
I’ve learnt to “deal” with it. To accept it, yet it won’t leave me. It’s who I am.
But you can learn to manage it, to accept it, move on and make a new you. That’s what I did. But I’ll never pretend it wasn’t a struggle. And I KNOW I’ll relapse.
The help is there, I spoke out and got it. Life’s easier. Not fixed, but accepted and we move on.
Policing or blue light services can & will break you. Be attuned to the risk, the signs, your own mind. Speak up. Get help, talk to your colleagues. You. Are. Not. Alone.

£100,000 RAISED 🤯
Truly speechless. When I began running I said my all time goal was to raise 100K for @mindcharity - never did I imagine we would do it on this challenge alone. I don’t even know how to word this, this is already the greatest day of my life and I haven’t even finished the run yet.
To whoever donated £20,000 anonymously, you have a heart of gold and thank you so much for believing in the challenge. Thank you to EVERYONE who has supported, I will forever be grateful for you all ❤️
