Don't be afraid to ask for help! Learning to code is tough enough, so don't make it harder by refusing to ask for help. Sometimes all it takes is someone else explaining how it works for you to "Get It".

What are you waiting for? What excuse do you have for not starting? Whatever it is, throw it away! It is time to stop procrastinating and #learntocode. Just you and the keyboard!

Just remember: YOU. CAN. CODE. Don't let the little hiccups on the path to learning get you down. Keep coming back every day and learning a little more!

Just starting out as a programmer? Don't try to learn while doing a large project! Instead, break your learning up into small (but still useful) projects. This will make your life much easier when you actually build your dream project!

My recommended Minimum Tech Stack to build a Minimum Viable Product: HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript frontend + Firebase Hosting, Functions, and Firestore backend. You only need to learn 6 things!

@lbleal1 Unfortunately, there aren't a ton of places to get the whole curriculum laid out in one place. I think @freeCodeCamp is one of the best on the market currently so check them out! I am building a more mentored approach, but it is still in early development.
When you set out to learn web development, do yourself a huge favor! Ignore all of the modern frameworks (i.e. React, Vue, Angular, Bootstrap, etc.) Focus on the basics: HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

@jameshattersle3@100xcode Something I found useful for the more advanced concepts was to try using them in a real project outside of the courses I was taking. It always helped me ingrain the concept into my workflow a little better.
@charae_keow@100xcode This is the exact opposite problem I had. I got up early to code and found myself too tired to focus but that I worked better late at night. Try going to bed an hour earlier and then waking up an hour earlier to code.
Learning to code is just as much about learning what the wrong solution is as it is about learning what the right solution is! Don't think of it as failure. Think of it as a new learning opportunity!

Having trouble picking what programming language to learn how to program with? Well, stop worrying about it! JavaScript, Python, Java, Ruby. Pick ONE. Now start learning and never look back!

Web Development is not a single thing. It is a combination of a lot of related skills. If you focus on learning and mastering one skill at a time, you will be a full web developer before you know it!

Programming Tip: The first language is the hardest to learn, but far. So keep at it! Once you have one language under your belt it will be easier for you to pick up the next. Just remember, the languages are tools, not the endgame!
