Taking a break from social media hiatus to congratulate my better half on her wonderful work! Much agreed from my time as a resident/hospitalist that the people in project ASSERT do amazing humanitarian work!
New pub alert 🔊 Really excited to share our work that shows how a community-based, diverse SUD treatment team linked to the ED can actually MITIGATE previously reported racial disparities in OUD tx @The_BMC https://t.co/w30Ia6UegZ 🧵 1/
Going through second licensure process in as many years, couldn’t agree more. But also opportunities to expand telehealth... https://t.co/WyvXskGBMj @JAMAInternalMed
What a wild year. From @im_jesssayinn getting sick in March, to hundreds of difficult conversations with Covid patients and their loved ones, to now, when a handful of my cells are churning out spike protein from an effective mRNA vaccine. Feeling hopeful.
Why has the United States handled this pandemic so badly? The Editors note that although we came into this crisis with enormous advantages, our current political leaders have demonstrated that they are dangerously incompetent.
"we've got insulin everywhere, it's like water."
I'm a physician. It's not. Raise your hand if you've admitted a DKA patient who couldn't afford their insulin.
@DocBrock9@davidcsnow@EMRAPCC@amalmattu@Yuv90@RWBonner91 Curious about this definition as well after a recent case... Sources (UpToDate) suggest new AKI and hematuria in combo with BP elevation = hypertensive nephrosclerosis (an emergency). Not sure abt proteinuria. A follow up q, does this necessitate a drip?
He may know more about infectious diseases than anyone else in America.
But boy does he need to work on the curve ball.
Dr. Fauci. We love you. We respect you. America needs you.
But please stay away from the pitcher's mound.
We can't have you on the DL
@ndrach1 I’ve always wondered that... is anyone really paying $39.95 to read this random article with an audience of like maybe 500 academics? I feel like this is the tip of the iceberg of some kind of academic publishing debate...
The morning you die, I don’t want to be there — like most mornings now, when I rise against my will and crawl dejectedly into scrubs. I don’t want to be a plague doctor or a hero on TV. I look for hope and find none, but I’m not allowed to admit to total free fall. #COVID19
@PaulDGeorge You probably need to let your note writing go a bit. Train of thought HPI and minimal written thought process for routine issues. Follow up visits are easier, build good rapport. Prechart and pend orders. Sign ASAP. Grain of salt, now a hospitalist 😉
