You cannot commit genocide in Gaza, invade Lebanon, bomb Iran, Syria, Yemen, and Iraq, violate Geneva and Vienna Conventions, international law, human rights, and state sovereignty, then hide behind anti-Semitism.
There is no rise in anti-Semitism. There is a rise in the number of people who are very angry at what Israel is doing. Your inability to separate the two is equally problematic.
“The growing wave of antisemitism in Canada is a myth. B’nai Brith Canada, a pro-Israel lobby group, has invented “a national crisis” of antisemitism by defining opposition to Zionism and criticism of Israel’s conduct as Judeophobia. The organization, along with other pro-Israel partisans, are pressing Canadian governments at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels to implement legal measures to criminalize pro-Palestinian, pro-democracy and anti-Zionist, anti-colonial political positions.”

Canada continues to send millions $ of aid to a country committing genocide in Israel and Lebanon.
@AnitaAnandMP@MarkJCarney - can't wait for your walk of shame to the Hague
You should have someone read this back to you. Perhaps perhaps THEN you could hear the lack of accountability, the hall pass you give a genocidal state, and the inappropriate conflation of issues. It's so enraging. You are the Min of Global Affairs. You have a duty to prevent genocide. You have a duty to ensure international law is upheld. "Don't do it again"
is the best you can do? You have an arsenal of means to show you're serious - that you won't countenance genocide. But ofc you're not serious. When will you just do your job?
Israel has turned its prisons into a network of torture camps for Palestinians. Prisoners are subjected to severe violence, deliberate humiliation, starvation, sleep deprivation, denial of medical care and abuse in everyfacility they are held in. Some have also been severely sexually assaulted. Since October 2023, at least 84 Palestinians have died in these torture camps.
The policymakers, and primarily Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, brag in TV puff pieces and on social media about what is happening in these torture camps.
Today, we published “Living Hell”, a report on the situation of Palestinians in Israeli custody. It is based on the testimonies of Palestinians released in recent months, along with research, reports, news updates and Israel Prison Service figures, and continues our previous report on the issue, “Welcome to Hell”, from August 2024.
Systematic, deliberate abuse continues to define Israel’s policy toward Palestinian prisoners in its custody, and is another feature of the Israeli regime’s coordinated onslaught on the Palestinian people.

"Global Affairs Canada said it had not approved new permits for items that could be used in the genocidal Gaza war since Jan 2024, but acknowledged “not all exports from Canada require an export permit”."

You “summoned” the Israeli ambassador over the torture of flotilla participants, but you’re still allowing him to attend CANSEC to help Israel access markets and partnerships for Israeli genocide weapons.
Truly horrible.
Sever diplomatic ties. Sanctions now.
Performative tweets + summons are insufficient. You remain complicit in #genocide. Sanctions are for STATES. Walk your talk, Start by ending the Canada-Israel Strategic Partnership + prosecuting the IDF soldiers seeking safe haven hiding in #Canada. @MarkJCarney@AnitaAnandMP
The abominable treatment of civilians aboard the flotilla, including that which is documented in footage shared by Itamar Ben-Gvir, is unacceptable.
Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs has directed officials to summon the Israeli ambassador to demand assurances regarding the safety and security of Canadians involved.
Canada has already imposed strict sanctions on Mr. Ben-Gvir, including asset freezes and a travel ban, in response to his repeated incitement of violence. The protection of civilians and respect for human dignity must be upheld everywhere, at all times.
Despite this abominable treatment, Canada continues to engage in military cooperation with Israel through the Canada-Israel Strategic Partnership. This includes joint training, intelligence sharing, and material procurement.
Performative outrage with zero consequences.
“Welcome to Hell” Israel’s National Security Minister Ben Gvir humiliating detained Gaza flotilla activists. The government of Israel under Netanyahu is a group of war criminals.
@martinezdefence@AnitaAnandMP While remaining complicit w weapons, blocking its own Gazan reunification work, 'securitizing' children + failing it's international obligations including #WPS in preventing #genocide. Do better or move over. Be loud about why these flotillas exist + demand an end to the siege.
"The video shared by Ben-Gvir is deplorable and documents the mistreatment of civilians."
The mistreatment depicted, while egregious, barely scratches the surface. Canada has long been aware of Israel's widespread and well-documented practice of torturing prisoners, yet it refuses to impose any meaningful consequences.
Horrific news. Three Muslims murdered at a mosque in San Diego.
Muslims should be able to pray in peace without fear of violence.
My prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire Muslim community in San Diego.

Human Rights Watch said recent reports detailing sexual violence against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention facilities are consistent with findings from previous investigations conducted by the organization and other rights groups. https://t.co/uXLQEpy0AU
Palestinians tell of widespread Israeli sexual violence against men, women and even children — by soldiers, settlers, Shin Bet interrogators, and prison guards. It has become one of Israel’s “standard operating procedures." https://t.co/d2lU8DdZPX
We call on Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and Minister @AnitaAnandMP to unequivocally condemn Israel’s detainment of over 170 civilians including two Canadians in international waters taking part in the Global Sumud Flotilla’s humanitarian mission to deliver aid to Gaza.
The two Canadians detained are Marie Tota, a nurse from Ontario and Umir Tiar, a student from Quebec City.
Canada has a responsibility to protect its citizens abroad and to uphold fundamental freedoms, including the right to participate in humanitarian missions free from unlawful interference.
PM Carney and Minister Anand must push for the safe release of Canadian citizens detained and for independent investigations to ensure accountability, including for potential acts of piracy and the endangerment of international civilians particularly Canadian citizens.

It should. Our country's resources should not be used for the ongoing support of #genocidebyIsrael. Supporting any external military as such is illegal. Outrageous. @MarkJCarney
A CRA complaint accuses 11 Jewish schools in Canada of supporting the Israeli military and violating charity rules. This investigation could impact their charitable status.
