Close deals faster with standard contracts and structured data

[Legal Tech StartUp Focus @LegalTechStrtUp]

In this post from Artificial Lawyer (AL) you’ll meet Gerri, a standalone agentic AI for your contract analysis and negotiation needs that, with “an optional attorney review add-on with flat-fee pricing and a 4-hour turnaround guarantee,” can also be used in conjunction with services from General Legal, an AI-native law firm.

From the AL post:

“Common Paper has launched Gerri 2.0, a new version of its contract analysis and negotiation system that comes with ‘a 10X faster processing engine, personality settings to guide the AI’s behaviour, and the ability to analyse negotiation history to suggest changes to your contract templates’. They are also now working directly with NewMod, AI-first law firm, General Legal, to handle contract work.”

Real life feedback from another portfolio CEO:

Jake and team have knocked it out of the park with Gerri. I shaved a month off a customer sales cycle on first contract review, along with a lot of counsel costs saved. I’ve fine tuned my playbook and reps can email agreements that are 90% reviewed and approved by the time I look at it. Yesterday I got a large set of redlines to review with significant counterproposals to have to add - was able to get it back to customer by EoD with only about 30 min of time on my end, and the proposed changes were all accepted this AM and fully executed today.

Less overall review / proposal exchanges. Faster sales cycles. Lower legal fees. Less time for me. And initially seems customers accepting our proposals more readily. This is a huge win everyone should look at.

Awesome work @jakestein and @bengarvey! Gerri from @UseCommonPaper is an absolute no-brainer for any startup or SMB who wants to cut legal costs and get to $$$ faster.

[Shaun McAvinney @Smcavinney]

Back in 2020, @jakestein and I were chatting about the brutal legal doc turnaround times we dealt with at Stitch Data. Deals slipping, contracts stuck in review, the whole thing. Even then, Jake had a vision for what AI would eventually be able to do with contract redlines. At the time, honestly, it sounded like a dream to me.

Seeing his vision land the way it has is pretty special. Jake and @bengarvey's relentless focus on making legal review actually painless is inspiring to see.

- 90% of contracts reviewed in under 3 minutes
- Fast escalation routing to the right person
- Automatic learning from negotiation history so turnaround time gets crushed the more you use it.

Simply wild.

Congrats to the whole @UseCommonPaper team!

[Ed Sim @edsim]

Most legal AI is a copilot that suggests redlines.

Gerri 2.0 is the first real agent that actually negotiates the whole contract for you.

Reads your playbook → autonomously accepts/counters/escalates → learns from every deal to kill redlines before they start.

Contract review is finally a team sport.

Deal velocity just went nuclear. 🔥

Congrats @jakestein @bengarvey @UseCommonPaper

Gerri 2.0 is live! Our AI agent for contract negotiation. Contract review is a team sport, but every tool out there is built for one lawyer working alone. Gerri fixes that.

Found this little gem.

@UseCommonPaper created a plain-language, standardized, structured agreement for buying and selling on-prem, downloadable, or on-prem software.

This agreement is free to use and modify under CC BY 4.0 and it's useful to anyone building and selling software.

It would be cool if software license agreements were more standardized and simplified like this.
