What are the software trends of the moment? TypeScript, Rust, C# โ and ethics, say Pittsburgh technologists @heezo@colindean@Uugengiven https://t.co/RWaUi51LIw
@shanselman You should use this as an example of what people newer to tech have to go through to do "something easy" in programming. "I thought I new what doing something easy was, until I tried it in a new domain."
@steveklabnik I can't believe there are people out there that actually remember what they ordered well enough to know they got the wrong thing. Like, bring food, I'll eat it, it's cool.
@sophiebits I initially wrote an analogy but realized that was a silly assumption. Are you looking something like an analogy that resonates with you? A high level w/o code explanation? Something with code?
@JJLiebig You have a secondary machine that is watching your observing in game with the cursor hidden or in the corner? Stream from that one. That way you also wouldn't have potential issues with alt+tab. That is only if you can real-time observe in game, though.l
@RemyPorter Jean and I played that, and somehow she always ended up playing the FBI guy and I played the PI, and it made for a surprisingly satisfying story. FBI guy in over his head going after a near super human PI that kills everyone in his path.
@polotek Do you think this could be written as "if you make x% of a town's budget at your job, you moving there will be disruptive"? If so, any thoughts on that percent?
@polotek I tell a nice version of this to my students. "Build it. If you end up with scaling issues, at that point, you will either know enough to learn to fix them or have enough money to hire someone to fix them."
@SomeMoreNews Biden's father's Republican Party ran Lincoln, so I get where he's coming from. Can you imagine your perception of time if you were 80 and just lived through the last 3 years?
