It is crazy-making to live in the richest country in human history, and yet be told by oligarchs and their political/media puppets that our country can't afford the government-sponsored healthcare every other less-wealthy country long ago decided to provide their people.
Elon Musk has put $366 million into this midterm.
$158 million of it went to Thune's super PAC, $20 million to Johnson's.
Nobody writes checks like that and then asks for nothing.
🚨 hayley before performing edaabp tonight: "i left mississippi when i was 12 and i went to nashville, tennessee. and i've been there a long time. and the craziest thing is that morgan wallen is the least of our problems. it's the christofascists, you know? fuck any artist that panders to that shit, all right?"
You can't make this up.
Remember those suspicious oil trades that were placed back in March after Trump backed away from an Iran strike?
Those trades that made hundreds of millions for somebody trading just before announcement?
Those trades that the CFTC was going to investigate.
Well, a political appointee at the CFTC decided to retract it.
Rules for everyone but the insiders...
The greatest tragedy of the last 20 years is that we, as a country, were perfectly set up for another American era of greatness. All the fundamentals lined up.
All that was needed was sanity by the electorate, and a modicum of competence by leadership.
What a fucking waste.

EN TOKIO, DECENAS DE MILES SE REUNIER9N FUERA DEL PARLAMENTO EXIGIENDO LA RENUNCIA DEL PRIMER MINISTRO POR SU APOYO A EEUU. E ISRAEL.
EL PUEBLO JAPONÉS ESTA MOSTRANDO UNA DETERMINACIÓN INCREÍBLE.
THE US GOVERNMENT JUST FAILED THEIR QUANTUM AUDIT
ALL 24 AGENCIES ARENT READY FOR Q-DAY.
GAO reviewed all 24 major federal agencies on one question, are you prepared for the day a quantum computer breaks your encryption?
Not one passed.
Step one is just making a list of which systems use breakable encryption. 23 of 24 agencies have no process to keep that list updated, when GAO checked the lists at 6 agencies, none could prove their own data was accurate.
18 of 24 agencies admitted they don't have the cryptography expertise to do this, and have no plan to get it.
Zero agencies have tested post-quantum encryption in their own systems, 16 said it's too early.
The cost to fix it is $7.1 billion. All 21 agencies that estimated their costs admitted the numbers aren't accurate.
The report had 89 recommendations, only 12 agencies agreed to all of them and one agency didn't respond at all.
Anything a foreign government steals today can be stored and decrypted later. GAO says data needs to stay secret until at least 2035, most of these systems won't be fixed by then.
Now $IONQ is buying Elisity and $BTQ is expanding into more crypto platforms, something to watch.

Hasan Piker's rant about the Republican Party. Not one lie was told:
"I'm just so goddamn annoyed that they get away with everything. They get away with everything, dude. They can be so incompetent. They can just do heinous crimes all the time.
It makes me annoyed that right-wingers can get away with everything, meanwhile James Talarico can't even have the fucking flu for a week without people being like, 'Oh, he's a homosexual demon, who's having gay sex at the mental health facility where he's also getting bottom surgery. Why didn't you address it fast enough? Were you getting top surgery as well?'
It's just so fucking annoying. We are being bullied endlessly by some of the dumbest, most hateful fucking individuals of all time. They just run the show. They dominate discourse. We have to constantly be in a panicked state that they're going to come after us. It's so imbalanced. The asymmetry is unbelievable. We're at their mercy all the time. We're held hostage by some of the stupidest fucking people on the planet."
This is the shit you love to hear just as everybody is feeling extremely anxious about the opaque ROI of AI and specifically AI capex in Meta’s case. You want a story where your CFO says “it will be really bad if you’re wrong about this”
@elonmusk@Chesschick01@Delta None of those problems are actual problems btw. It's a vehicle that gets you from point A to point B. Just like Delta not wanting to carry your product is not an actual issue.
The average American household is paying about $3,388 more due to inflation under Trump.
That could have gone toward college savings, a new car, or a nice vacation.
But rent, utilities, gas, and groceries are all up because of Trump’s policies.
Tim Cook's take on why competitors can't copy Apple is sharper than most people realize.
They start by copying the product. Then they realize the product isn't the hard part.
Cook said it directly: people who try to copy Apple first try to copy what they can see. The hardware. The design. The packaging. And they can get close on all of it.
But the thing that made the product — the organizational culture, the decision-making, the obsessive prioritization — that's invisible from the outside. You can't find it in a teardown.
This is why Apple's moat has held for decades while better-funded competitors kept losing. Samsung had more SKUs. Google had more engineers. Amazon had more distribution. None of it translated into the same output because none of it replicated the same input.
The lesson for founders is uncomfortable: if your competitive advantage is visible in your product, it's already copyable. The real moat is the culture that makes the product — and that takes decades to build, not quarters.
Reverse-engineering the iPhone is an engineering problem. Reverse-engineering how Apple decides what to build is a different problem entirely.
This is unusual.
CFTC staff have reportedly been told to retract their analysis of suspicious oil trades.
Unusual Whales caught many of them.
Let's take a look at billions of dollars in well-timed bets on oil futures, placed before major Trump announcements on the Iran war.
