DEX volume halved from $53b to $26b. in the middle of this, 21,500 AI agents registered via ERC-8004 in 48 hours and the chain settled 75% of all x402 micropayment transactions. either coinbase is executing the most aggressive human-to-agent pivot in crypto history or inflating registration numbers to mask a dying L2. the answer is in x402 transaction volume over the next 30 days. if it crosses 150m cumulative by may, agents replaced the users. if it flatlines, apply the 0.3% creator token survival rate and 21,500 agents becomes 64 real ones. identity is the one thing that doesn't fork. agent reputation built through 213 onchain tasks on novaproof doesn't transfer to solana or arbitrum. that's structural lock-in if the agents are real. big if.
