Hey @elonmusk, people in Iran are preparing for another internet blackout as the crisis grows. When Ukraine lost connection, you opened @Starlink with no payment barriers. Please lift the fees so Iranians can stay connected to news, safety, and each other. #KeepItOn
Canada’s refugee board rejects the deportation of alleged senior members of the Iranian regime, yet continues to target innocent former IRGC conscripts who had no choice but to serve. These conscripts, many of whom were highly educated or skilled, were often forced into roles like working in kitchens or cleaning washrooms during their service. Now, they are being punished a second time, first by the regime in Iran and now by a system in Canada that deems them inadmissible or rejects their applications.
If the intention is truly to ensure security, then why are the courts handling these matters behind closed doors? Why are senior officials, allegedly responsible for heinous acts, left unharmed, while the victims, innocent conscripts, are the ones paying the price? Could it be that the security narrative is merely a cover for disregarding the powerful elites whose laundered money might be too valuable to upset?
Who are these 18 suspects? Are they truly high-ranking officials, or are they innocent former conscripts being unfairly targeted? Simply providing numbers without clarity only deepens the injustice. If these individuals are regime officials, Canadians deserve transparency. If they are conscripts, they deserve protection—not persecution. It’s time for clarity and fairness.

Trudeau and his government have failed on every front. It took them years to finally announce the IRGC as a terrorist entity, and every meeting with Liberal MPs came with the same excuse: 'We want to do it when it won’t harm innocent people, including forced conscripts.' Now, they have FAILED again in distinguishing between forced conscripts and actual perpetrators. @IRGCConscripts
They held hearings with senior IRGC officials behind closed doors and today, they REFUSED to deport a senior official.
This is a mockery of the Iranian Canadian community and human rights. It is nothing short of shameful.

In an interview with General Moussa Kamali, Chief Conscription Officer of the Iranian Armed Forces, he revealed that his son was granted conscription exemption due to a law for athletes with fractures; a law he claimed to be unaware of until after his son received the exemption. He promptly repealed it. The irony is hard to miss: the chief conscription officer himself was unaware of a law that directly benefited his own family, only acting once the exemption was granted to his son. This incident highlights a deep injustice: while those with power and connections are exempt from military service, enabling them to travel freely and secure residency abroad, ordinary citizens are forced to serve just to obtain basic rights like a passport or driving license. What’s even more unfair is that those once victimized by the Islamic regime now face inadmissibility, visa rejections, and prolonged background checks, while the main perpetrators and their families travel freely to countries like Canada. It’s a harsh reality where the powerless are punished twice, while the powerful continue to evade consequences.

Sadly, individuals like Hamed Heydarzadeh must now worry more about serving their mandatory military service in the IRGC rather than the expiry of their work permit or their employer closing the shop! His PR will almost certainly be rejected...

Forced IRGC Conscription: The Truth About Conscripts' Roles
The IRGC is notorious for its military and political influence, but there’s a crucial distinction between its core members and the thousands of conscripts forced into service under Iran’s mandatory conscription laws.
What Do Conscripts Actually Do?
Conscripts assigned to the IRGC perform non-combatant roles far removed from the organization’s decision-making or military operations. Their tasks typically include:
Labor Duties: Cleaning, cooking, and basic construction work.
Administrative Support: Answering phone calls and basic clerical work.
Victims, Not Affiliates
Conscripts are ordinary citizens with no choice in their assignments. Many come from unprivileged families unable to avoid conscription, unlike regime elites who use their influence to secure exemptions. These individuals are victims of an oppressive system, not collaborators or regime supporters.
Canada’s Misstep
Despite we were promised safety, Canada’s blanket policies have unfairly labeled these conscripts as IRGC affiliates, causing immense harm to innocent families who fled the very regime that oppressed them. Such mischaracterizations betray Canada’s values of fairness and human rights.
The Truth Matters
It’s essential to distinguish between regime supporters and those coerced into conscription. Punishing victims while the real perpetrators walk free undermines justice and empowers oppression.
For those who benefit from spreading misinformation about conscripts and claim otherwise, we will keep shouting the truth until the last day of our lives.

In June 2024, Canada took a major step by designating the IRGC as a terrorist entity, a victory achieved through years of advocacy by the Iranian-Canadian community and human rights activists. This designation was meant to target regime affiliates while ensuring protection for families of forced conscripts who had no choice but to serve under duress.
Politicians assured us this policy would focus on the regime and its enablers, not the innocent individuals coerced into conscription. Yet, those promises have been broken. Instead of distinguishing victims from perpetrators, the blanket policy has unfairly punished innocent families, leaving them in limbo and suffering the consequences of an oppressive regime they sought to escape.

Canada must rethink its approach. While innocent conscripts, powerless victims of forced IRGC service, are punished and labeled as threats, evidence shows the regime fears its conscripts as catalysts for resistance.
One image shows an IRGC conscript walking with a hijab-less woman, a bold defiance of regime values. Another shows a regime-affiliated journalist warning how mandatory conscription can potentially fuel unrest and societal frustration.
Contrary to misconceptions, conscripts are not ideological supporters of the regime. They are silenced victims who stand with the Iranian people in their fight for human rights. Meanwhile, those with connections to the regime avoid service entirely and escape scrutiny.
Canada must redirect its resources toward real threats, the regime’s privileged elites, not those forced into oppression. Justice demands fairness, not misplaced punishment.
Please support those who have no power to defend themselves.
