After Vote Chori and Sarkar Chori - the BJP-EC jugalbandi has finished the contest before it has even begun with Seat Chori.

Look at what happened in the recent Rajya Sabha elections.

Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan ji submitted every document. No pending cases. The EC cancelled her nomination on a frivolous BJP objection.

Parimal Nathwani ji, the BJP-backed independent, got his own name wrong on the form and skipped multiple mandatory disclosures. The EC gave him an extension to fix everything.

Same Election Commission. Two candidates. One was disqualified without even a hearing. The other was rewarded despite not following the rules.

When the Congress sought a meeting, the EC first tried to evade us. When we finally met, they did not say one word.

Expect to see much more of this - because for the BJP, it is far easier to fix the election than to win it.

Under BJP rule, the meanings of some words seem to have changed.

• Those involved in paper leaks are called patriots.

• Rapists and criminals are protected in the name of culture and nationalism.

• Those who looted banks and fled abroad are treated with sympathy and respect.

But...

• Those demanding punishment for such crimes are branded anti-nationals.

• Students raising their voice against paper leaks and unemployment are labeled as Pakistan supporters.

• Journalists, intellectuals, and citizens questioning the government are called Chinese agents.

• Anyone who defends the Constitution and democratic institutions is accused of helping terrorists.

If asking questions is sedition,
if demanding accountability is anti-national,
and if protecting criminals is patriotism,
then perhaps it is not just the meaning of words that has changed — the very spirit of democracy is under threat.

ఎన్నికల సమయంలో కోర్టులు జోక్యం చేసుకోలేమంటే, దేశానికి ఎన్నికల కమిషన్ ఒక్కటే చాలు కదా!

ఎవరు పోటీ చేయాలో, ఎవరు చేయకూడదో ఎన్నికల కమిషన్ నిర్ణయిస్తే, దాన్ని ప్రజాస్వామ్యం అనడం ఎందుకు?

ఎన్నికల తర్వాత న్యాయం చేస్తామని చెప్పడం వల్ల అప్పటికే జరిగిన నష్టం తిరిగి సరిచేయలేం.

ఇలాంటి తీర్పులు దేశ ప్రజల్లో న్యాయవ్యవస్థపై ఉన్న విశ్వాసాన్ని దెబ్బతీసే ప్రమాదం ఉంది.

I condemn the conspiracy by the BJP in Madhya Pradesh which resulted in the rejection of Ms Meenakshi Natarajan Ji’s Rajya Sabha nomination. After #VoteChori and #SIR , they are now resorting to Seat Chori.

This is an assault on democracy. People’s voices are being stifled. This is a dark day for Indian democracy and needs to be condemned by all citizens.

మహిళా శక్తి వారోత్సవాల్లో భాగంగా పరేడ్ గ్రౌండ్ లో ఏర్పాటు చేసిన “ప్రజా పాలన- ప్రగతి ప్రణాళిక” బహిరంగ సభలో పాల్గొన్నాను.

మహిళా శక్తి, మహాలక్ష్మి పథకాల్లో భాగంగా మహిళా స్వయం సహాయక సమాఖ్య(SHG), మండల మహిళా సమాఖ్యలకు (MMS) చెక్కులను అందజేశాను.

553 బస్సుల అద్దె ఛార్జీల నిమిత్తం TGSRTC నుంచి మండల మహిళా సమాఖ్య(MMS)లకు రూ.20.34 కోట్ల చెక్కును అందజేశాను.

వడ్డీ లేని రుణాలకు సంబంధించి రూ.500 కోట్ల చెక్కును ఆడబిడ్డలకు అందజేశాను.

రాష్ట్రంలోని మహిళల ఉచిత ప్రయాణ సౌకర్యానికి సంబంధించిన రూ.10,700 కోట్ల చెక్కును అందజేశాను.

We had a detailed representation before the Election Commission. We told them, and we demonstrated according to us, beyond doubt and beyond any matter of controversy, that the RO has passed a perverse order.

The Election Commission's own law, the Representation of the People Act, has Section 33A, which says that disclosure is required only in those cases where the punishment is more than two years, and above all, only in those cases where charges have been framed. The process of framing charges is a judicial process. A judge frames charges.

Now, as any kindergarten or first-year law student knows, the first step is a private complaint. That private complaint may be baseless and may have no legs to stand on. The second stage is the taking of cognizance by the magistrate, which is a judicial and independent process.

Ms. Natarajan only received a notice to appear before the court and explain why cognizance should not be taken. That means the notice she received was before any cognizance was taken.

Without cognizance, no criminal case exists in the eyes of the law. There is no criminal case merely because I allege something against somebody else without cognizance being taken.

They have rejected Ms. Natarajan's nomination despite the non-existence of even cognizance, which means there was no criminal case that she could have disclosed. Whereas Section 33A, says that after cognizance is taken, there will be an investigation. After the investigation, there will be a charge sheet.

The RO's order uses the word "sangyan." Sangyan means cognizance. There was no cognizance taken.

Ultimately, we also pointed out to the Election Commission that it has a huge reservoir of power under Article 324. It is a constitutional power, an untrammable power and an inherent power. It is the power to do justice and the power to right wrongs.

We hope and trust that the Election Commission will realize that this creates a very bad, distorted, non-level playing field. A non-level playing field strikes at the heart of democracy. A violation of that strikes further at the heart of the basic structure of the Constitution.

Therefore, we have requested them for an immediate decision. We have come on the day of withdrawal. There is sufficient time. This is a completely egregious, blatant, patently unlawful order, without any basis in law, and it should be set aside immediately. That is our request.

In a democracy, the Election Commission's job is to:

✅ Ensure more people can vote.
✅ Encourage more candidates to contest.

But the syllabus here seems a bit different!

📌 How to reduce the number of candidates?
📌 How to delete voters from the rolls?
📌 How to "manage" democracy?

At times, it feels like more effort is being spent on reducing participation than on conducting elections.

పాలమూరు-రంగారెడ్డి ప్రాజెక్టులో 90% పనులు పూర్తయ్యాయని మీరు చెప్పుకుంటున్నరు. ఒకసారి వాస్తవ పరిస్థితిని పరిశీలిద్దాం:

❌ నార్లాపూర్ కాడ ఏర్పాటు చేయాల్సిన 9 మోటార్లకు, పదేండ్లలో కేవలం ఒక్క మోటారు పెట్టి 90% పూర్తయిందని చెప్పడానికి సిగ్గు అనిపించట్లేదా??

❌పంపిణీ కాలువలు (distributary canals) తవ్వకం పనులు అసలు చేపట్టకుండా మీరు ₹28,000 కోట్లు ఎవని జోబులో పోసిండ్రు??

❌ 90 శాతం పూర్తి చేసినం అని బోగస్ మాటలు చెప్తున్న బిఆర్ఎస్ పదేండ్లల ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్ కింద ఒక్క ఎకరాకైనా నీళ్లు ఇచ్చిండ్రా??
