On the occasion of Swami Chandrasekharendra Saraswati's Jayanti, a learned devotee requested me to compose a shloka on him for chanting (inspired by Mahaswami's directive in a recent dream).

ज्ञानसागरं कृपाकटाक्षवीक्षणं विभुं।
पण्डितैश्च पामरैश्च भक्तिसेवितं गुरुं।
चन्द्रशेखरेन्द्रमादिशंकरांशसम्भवं।
वैदिकार्षधर्मपालनासुतत्परं भजे।।
jñānasāgaraṁ kṛpākaṭākṣavīkṣaṇaṁ vibhuṁ |
paṇḍitaiśca pāmaraiśca bhaktisevitaṁ guruṁ |
candraśekharendramādiśaṁkarāṁśasambhavaṁ |
vaidikārṣadharmapālanāsutatparaṁ bhaje||

This was composed in chhandas (meter) "CharuChamara" (a pleasing chowrie/plume/fan).

May MahaSwami bless us all with devotion, dharmik conduct, wisdom and dispassion! 🙏

During the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) - 26 to 19 kya, northerly latitudes on the Eurasian landmass completely froze over. Ice sheets covered land as far as Germany and as far south as Hungary, permafrost set in. Populations declined catastrophically. But there were refugia. By a combination of ocean currents and mountain ranges, there was a contiguous zone where the day temperature held constant at 24 degrees C. This is, in fact, the perfect thermoregulatory zone for the human body. Populations in these areas (blue lines) thrived and flourished. Ultimately they resettled the whole of the Eurasian landmass after the LGM ended.
