→ The mythical “decisive strategic advantage” of reaching AGI first? America’s nuclear monopoly lasted four years. Software advantages last weeks.

→ Every export control we tightened narrowed the capability gap rather than widened it. We are forcing China to innovate and reduce dependence on America.

→ Playing the wrong game: We think we’re in a Prisoner’s Dilemma. The real game is a Stag Hunt. And we are betting the country chasing the stag alone while China quietly collects the hares and diffuses its AI across its economy and the world.

There is no finish line in AI but there are many medals worth winning. America should make sure it is competing for the ones that matter.💡

33 years ago, I put on my first #VR headset…thinking to myself this technology is going to change our lives. This year (after decades of disappointment), I’m more confident than ever it’s going to happen in the near future on a mass scale. 🕶️

Apple’s biggest contribution to the industry isn’t they built a super innovative product (most of what’s in the AVP has been done in some form by other vendors), it’s that they are making #XR socially acceptable (maybe even desirable) for the non-tech audience. It’s going to be aspirational luxury for many that would not have been interested in the past and it’s the start of the path to mass adoption. Their stores and customers will give tens of millions their first exposure to true high-quality #virtual experiences!

Rising tides will raise all boats… 2024 is going to be a pivotal year for our industry! ✊
