8 May 1988, Panipat, Haryana
3 Sikhs militants approached a Hindu wedding celebration on motorcycles & opened fire with submachine guns.
13 people including 4 women & 2 children, all Hindus, were k!ll3d & 31+ were wounded.
Rajputs were not merely robbers; they were also protectors and profiteers of human traffickers. They sheltered criminals from the Gwaria community, whose principal occupation was abducting women and children and selling them. Rajputs profited from this criminal trade.
Sir John Malcolm writes that the British government greatly reduced this heinous crime and punished large numbers of the offenders, whereas Rajputs imposed only token punishments on the Gwarias because they profited from their human trafficking operations.
How can these p!mps be called warriors or defenders of Hindu Dharma?
Wonder why today's rural Punjab is mostly Sikh dominated? Because all Hindus were purged by Khalistanis from Punjab villages, no different than Pakistan. 30,000+ is only the recorded figure of the time when militancy was at its peak.
On 24 June 1983

Did You Know?
On April 1984, inside Darbar Sahib: Baljit Kaur was stripped naked, interrogated, branded with hot iron, breasts cut off, bones smashed in extreme torture — then murdered inside Akal Takht itself.

The morality lecture only begins when it comes to Jaswant Singh Khalra because he belonged to a family of freedom fighters? You cannot question about his soft separatism past, or how unknown bodies were tallied and identified by religion? Fine
Then what about Lala Jagat Narain? A genuine freedom fighter who spent years in British jails for India's independence. A fearless journalist. Founder of Punjab Kesari, Hind Samachar, and Jagbani. He was assassinated by Khlistani trrorists because he refused to surrender to separatist terror and exposed their propaganda. His son, Ramesh Chander, was later murdered by the Khlistanis too.
If questioning one person's legacy is portrayed as crossing a moral line, how is mocking or laughing or justifying at the brutal murders of Lala Jagat Narain and his son somehow acceptable?
Who Created Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale?
On 24 April 1980, Nirankari leader Baba Gurbachan Singh was assassinated. Later, on 9 September 1981, Lala Jagat Narain, founder of the Hind Samachar group, was also murdered.
The men involved in Baba Gurbachan Singh's assassination, Ranjit Singh and Kabal Singh, were associated with the Akhand Kirtani Jatha. Those involved in Lala Jagat Narain's murder Nachhattar Singh Rode, Swarn Singh Rode, and Dalbir Singh belonged to the Damdami Taksal, a Sikh religious institution.
Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale became the 14th head (Jathedar) of the Damdami Taksal in Aug 1977. The accused in both murder cases had direct links to Bhindranwale. Swarn Singh Rode was the son of Bhindranwale's elder brother, Jagir Singh.
During the investigation, Bhindranwale's name also surfaced, but he was released due to lack of evidence. Congress leader Zail Singh told Parliament that, "the Sant (Bhindranwale) had nothing to do with the murder." Swarn Singh Rode was also acquitted. (He was later killed alongside his uncle Bhindranwale during Operation Blue Star.)
One of the most significant aspects of the Lala Jagat Narain murder case was that instead of arresting Bhindranwale immediately, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Darbara Singh first announced his arrest warrant over All India Radio.
At that time, Bhindranwale was not in hiding. He was travelling in Haryana. He took seven days to cover around 200 km from Chand Kalan village before reaching the Damdami Taksal headquarters in Amritsar district.
Veteran journalist Kuldip Nayar wrote that Union Home Minister Zail Singh telephoned Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and asked him not to arrest Bhindranwale. A senior police officer later told journalist Satish Jacob that Haryana's Chief Minister deliberately delayed sending the police, allowing Bhindranwale to return safely to his gurdwara. When Bhindranwale was finally arrested in Punjab, he was not sent to jail. Instead, he was kept in a government Circuit House, a facility usually reserved for government officials and dignitaries. About a month later, he was released.
Bhindranwale publicly justified assassinations. He said, "Those who carried out these acts deserve to be honoured by the Akal Takht. If they come to me, I will weigh them in gold." (Source: Amritsar: Mrs. Gandhi's Last Battle by Mark Tully and Satish Jacob)
In March 1982, Bhindranwale toured Delhi and several other cities. His followers travelled in trucks carrying illegal weapons, yet no action was taken against him. By then, his focus had shifted from targeting the Nirankaris to targeting Hindus.
As his influence continued to grow, the government became increasingly concerned. Bhindranwale also realized that he had become politically important. In July 1982, he moved into the Golden Temple complex.
Bhindranwale's public image initially was that of a religious preacher. After becoming the head of the Damdami Taksal, he encouraged Sikhs to strictly follow their religious traditions. He persuaded many people to give up alcohol, drugs, and smoking, and helped settle long-standing family disputes. These activities made him popular among many Sikhs.
Congress leaders Zail Singh and his political rival Darbara Singh both recognized Bhindranwale's growing influence. Zail Singh wanted to use Bhindranwale to weaken the Akali Dal's control over the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). Bhindranwale fielded candidates in SGPC elections at Zail Singh's suggestion. As a result, many of Bhindranwale's early activities reportedly received political patronage. Also, Journalist Kuldip Nayar wrote that Sanjay Gandhi chose Bhindranwale as a political counterweight to the Akalis. According to Nayar, Sanjay Gandhi said that they would continue providing Bhindranwale with financial support from time to time. On Congress's advice, Bhindranwale campaigned for Congress candidates Gurdial Singh Dhillon, R. I. Bhatia, and the wife of the Punjab Police Commissioner during elections.
