@Vaibha_vv08 A DS king had a son. The son performed poorly. So he adopted another older son. Now both sons fighting to prove who's better to take over.
BREAKING: The Nasdaq 100 extends losses to -5.5% on the day, now on track to post its biggest daily decline since April 2025.
The index is now ~5% away from entering bear market territory.
@FactsAnalyst@ShivamSanghi12#Yesterday- Rahul gandhi exposes punjab CM bhagwant Mann.
#Today CJP- suddenly remembers to protest in congress-ruled kerala !
The playbook is so predictable, touch AAP and their entire economy of sleeper cell wakes up on command to do their dirty work! 😭🥲
I have said many times before why India should create a cryptocurrency reserve. But let me say it again when crypto is actually going down:
I used to say at least $10 billion. But now I will say $70 billion reserve may be a good idea. What's the worse that can happen? Everything goes to zero and $70 billion wiped out?
India's FX reserves go up and down by $70b over a week or so many times. It means nothing for a country sitting on $700 billion of reserves.
But what happens if currencies suddenly depreciate due to banking issues and crypto goes 10x? The $70b will become $700 billion that can be used right when FX reserves will plunge.
The dance of global stock markets is beginning to resemble the Theatre of the Absurd!
Just a few months ago, the headline could well have read:
“Indian stocks the lone dark spot in Asia as the rest of the region booms on AI optimism.”
In fact I did manage to find a Bloomberg headline saying almost exactly that…
And now, India is the lone bright spot as the rest of Asia slumps on AI anxiety!
Same markets. Same AI. Different mood.
Perhaps the only thing moving faster than stock prices these days is the narrative explaining them…
@aravind@aravind Over $2 trillion wiped out from US markets amid AI sell-offs! Liquidation, geopolitics and socio-economic factors matter too, especially with the 2026 US midterm elections potentially reshaping AI regulations and investor sentiment.🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@SunilBSinghania Optimism is good, but the real test will be whether this momentum sustains through the US midterm elections. Markets may already be pricing in a more favourable political and economic outlook.
Tomorrow morning it will be a blood bath in NASDAQ. Some stocks may bleed red the way Reds have bled votes.
But the good news is Indian markets may benefit from the funds fleeing these AI boom markets in the coming months.
This is why I have been saying India needs to reduce the trading taxes a bit sooner. It will further incentivize the inflow.
The World Bank’s latest report on India’s dramatic decline in poverty has, predictably, attracted both bouquets from optimists & brickbats from skeptics.
Interestingly, even Kalshi, the US prediction market exchange, seems to have found the news worth covering!
For me, the numbers offer enormous hope.
But 2.6% of 1.4 billion people still means roughly 36 million people living in extreme poverty. More than the entire population of Australia.
Clearly, miles to go before we sleep.
But let me turn from the cold statistics to the flesh & blood reality of fighting poverty.
Yesterday, the Naandi Foundation celebrated its 28th anniversary.
Naandi was the brainchild of Shri Chandrababu Naidu, @ncbn, who persuaded the late Dr. K. Anji Reddy of @drreddys to become its founding Chairman.
Dr. Reddy brought me on board & before his passing, entrusted me with carrying his work forward.
Throughout this journey, @manoj_naandi has provided irrepressibly energetic & imaginative leadership, backed by an extraordinary team.
It has been a privilege to work alongside them. I owe them an enormous debt of gratitude for giving me such a meaningful way to give back to our country.
Our work through @NanhiKali@arakucoffeein@arakucoffee@UFCo_India & @NaandiWater has brought me a degree of fulfilment that is difficult to put into words.
But enough from me.
Please watch this short video.
Listen to farmers describing how regenerative farming has brought them not just prosperity, but birdsong back to their villages!
Listen to young women who now dream not merely of earning a livelihood, but of seeing one of their own playing for India’s national women’s football team.
Because poverty is not just about the absence of income. It is also about the absence of opportunity. Of confidence. Of the freedom to dream.
And that is what we are determined to change.
So while the debate over the World Bank’s statistics continues, my #MondayMotivation comes from something far more tangible.
Half a million people lifted out of poverty. The lives of 10 million people touched & improved.
And Naandi is just one among many organisations that have been quietly transforming lives across India.
The World Bank report is data.
The change is real.
And that is why my faith in India’s future has never been stronger.
According to World Bank's latest report, India's extreme poverty has fallen from 27.6% to just under 2.6%.
And for Indians living under Rs. 400 a day (lower middle income), it has come down from 57.7% of the population to 16.1%.
Remarkable achievement by India given the rupee depreciated and the inflationary pressure of a fast growing economy.

In the last 12 years, 49.6 crore people have moved out of poverty in India. Only 2.6% remain below the poverty line. These are not figures from some dubious organisation; they are from a World Bank report released just 18 days ago. This should have been the biggest story in the world. Instead, it has disappeared from the headlines, while manufactured controversies and “deep state” movements dominate television.
A record monthly GST collection of ₹2.31 lakh crore. Sales of 46 lakh four-wheelers and 2.71 crore two-wheelers. 25 lakh EVs. Electronics production worth ₹13 lakh crore. Defence production worth ₹2 lakh crore. FMCG growing at around 5% every year.
Do these achievements happen without employment? Who is buying 3 crore two-wheelers each year—only the Adanis and Ambanis?
The Opposition is trying to form a government through agitation because it sees the ground shifting beneath it—not because of Gyanesh Kumar. Put forward a vision greater than this: present it in Parliament, on the streets, and before NITI Aayog. Acknowledge what the country has achieved and explain how you will do even better. That is how you win people’s confidence—not through manufactured issues.

@aravind India’s manufacturing share is still behind Vietnam and Bangladesh. Closing this gap and capturing global supply chains could make the 2030s India’s defining decade.!!?
It's not just poverty, toilets, or highways, statistics like "the number of clinical trials done in India" indicating biomedical R&D and innovation can show India's development in the last decade.
