I've just published four "Evidence Briefs" to support tobacco harm reduction policymaking and advocacy:
1. Safety and risks
2. Impact on smoking
3. Youth
4. Policy considerations

Comments and suggestions are welcome.
@StuartEnoch@DoctorsAcademy Oh dear, you're in the UK too... 🤦 How embarrassing..
Do some actual research and stop spreading misinformation, you're literally obligated to getting it right.
@AlexWodak Well it seems @nhssmokefree find about two thirds stop smoking when they have a viable alternative. Makes sense to get as many people as possible to at least try vaping. Massive savings in cancer treatment and death and misery will result.
Meanwhile in Australia…
During the 40 yrs I smoked, never did I worry that cigarettes would be banned.
Unbelievable the product that led me to quit smoking by accident is the very product I worry about being banned.
Read this! @Clive_Bates provides a succinct & penetrating analysis of how & why so much purportedly scientific analysis & journalistic coverage of #vaping gets it wrong so often. Shoud be required reading in intro courses on scientific methodology.

@quitvic Australia has created the perfect environment for an illicit market and continually lied about the "dangers" of ecigs to the populous.
Oz government, a little backward, it would seem, unfortunately.
"The government to accelerate the path to prescribed vapes and provide free Swap to Stop packs in deprived communities."

@WeinerPhD Oopsies, someone dropped the ball.
So let's get this straight, you're charging education establishments to give talks on a subject you've poorly researched?
@DavidUtleyMD Antifreeze also contains water.....yes,that's how crazy your statement is.
You wouldn't be looking to proffer from spreading lies and fear mongering, would you?
So sad that so many in the US prefer $ over helping folk.
@American_Heart 2nd hand smoke increases health risks slightly in non-smokers who LIVE with a SMOKER for DECADES. Smoke lingers in a room 40 min.
2nd hand vapor is well-within OSHA safety limits, and evaporates in 20 seconds.
When you lie like this, do you realize you're eroding public trust?
@laIososa Should have patted him on the back and congratulated him for quitting smoking 👍
It's probably taken him years and many failed attempts to stop smoking and vaping finally enabled him to do it. A story repeated by millions the world over.
#vapingsaveslives
@ProfGlantz@FDATobacco@DrCaliff_FDA ...yet in the real world, with real people, this isn't the case.
I stopped smoking 100% the day I picked up an ecig. 100's of 1000's with the same story as me.
Stop fighting something that doesn't need to be fought, embrace the real harm reduction possibilities of vaping.
@JsGitali Oh behave yourself Joel.
THR does you out of a job, that's it, that's your only concern in this, has to be because you ignore the real science and just choose what best suits you.
@JsGitali@StefanDidak Still clearly confused on this then Joel?! THR advocates are ex-smokers fighting for their personal rights to a safer alternative.
On the whole, vapers dislike tobacco companies as much as anyone but they are talking more sense then tob control right now.
@NBCDFW So does eating and drinking a lot of sugar and acidic foods.
Even if the study was actually saying this, it would still be preferable to a slow, painful, cancer-filled death. To a smoker that has lived Russian roulette smoking for years, bleeding gums is a small price.
@ParentsvsVape My son is a dentist. After 8yrs of vaping, he says my oral health has never been better. The only thing confirmed is that you're still lying about the most effective and popular means of smoking cessation.
