Had a conversation with one of my network and it reminded me that i actually hosted the first @binance Meetup in Africa. Was the first Binance Angel, and i remembered when @cz_binance used to have meetings with the angels. My motivation is still the same that Africa must sit at the table of this digital revolution. I was a speaker at the African Blockchain and Defi Summit in Lagos about a week ago and the message is still the same. For adoption to take place in Africa, the winner wouldn't be the team with the best product rather the team that makes it easy and simple for users to use Web3 product without needing to know what they are using. I am glad i have paid my due but there is still more work to be done.

Everything I’ve become in life, I owe to strangers I met online or offline.

One of the most deliberate things you can do to change your life is to go out and talk to strangers.

I have often taught my students that everything you’re looking for in this life is in the hands of other people.

But one thing you must understand is that people buy. When I say “buy,” I’m not talking literally about buying and selling. What I mean is that people patronize and support those they know, like, and trust.

So, you must be someone with a likable personality. But the first step is that people must know you.

One of the ways for people to know you is to go out and talk to them.

Here on social media, one of the most deliberate things you can do, and something I also do that has increased my followership, reach, and the number of people who engage with me, is to share your opinions on other people’s posts, especially posts that are in line with things you believe in and understand.

Once you become that person who goes out of your way to talk to other people, especially strangers, you increase your chances of succeeding in almost everything you want to do.

Hahaha 😝 i remember In 2017, when the price of Bitcoin went from around $800–$1,000 at the beginning of the year to nearly $20,000 by December, I made my first one million dollars.

Then the naive me wanted to start taking care of everyone. Anyone who had an issue, I wanted to help. I started dishing out money, supporting people and investing in different things.

Then came 2018.

Bitcoin started crashing. By the middle of 2018, it had fallen to around $6,000, and by December, it had dropped to almost $3,000.

I hadn’t planned for that.

Between my investments and all the money I had given out supporting other people, I had spent almost all the money I had made the previous year. Suddenly, my cash was running low.

That was when it dawned on me that I might need help myself.

I started thinking, “Okay, maybe I can reach out to some of the people I helped and see if they can help me survive this period until the price of Bitcoin comes back.”

What happened next shocked me.

When I started reaching out to some of them, the reaction was almost like, “Ah, you were just the one giving us money. How come you are the one who needs help now?”

I noticed that some of them started avoiding me. Some stopped picking up my calls.

Then one night, my partner at the time told me something that has stuck with me ever since.

She said:

“No allow money finish for your hand o. People are very unfair to former rich people. Because when you are the giver and you finally lack, almost everyone will think you didn’t plan your life well, even though you were giving the money to them.”

I have never forgotten those words.

Since that day, whenever I am deciding what to do with my money or how much of myself to give to others, I remember that warning:

Look at our children learning and making things. They are 100 in number.

Some of them are from villages and low-income homes. This is so fulfilling.

Quality education should be free and accessible to every child, regardless of their family background.

Guys let me share a small hack. If you truly love to work in any company of your choice, try to attend their career day or any events that is open to the public.

Do your research on who the HR, Manager or decision maker in that company’s is and try to network your way at the event.

Some opportunities begins with a handshake and a smile.

Sometimes it is that simple.

If I have the power, I will create an amendment in the INEC Acts that set up an independent body to nominate three qualified candidates for INEC chairman and the Nigeria people will electronically vote whom among the three nominees to become the INEC chairman. That will be the beginning for a better Nigeria as you cannot have an impartial INEC chairman that was appointed by the President. He who pays the piper dictates the tunes.
