@BolsasDeLeche@mattyglesias An egg producer making huge profits because the competitions birds died from bird flu is not price rigging it is precisely what you'd expect from normal supply and demand pricing.
@MikeTalonNYC@DJSnM The point is that the heat energy to dissipate is proportional to the amount of solar panels. That's always going to be true. If the solar panels are 10x bigger than the radiators here, then that's going to be pretty much true for any satellite that uses solar to power computers.
@Rheiji1@ArmandDoma Yglesias specifically mentions the need to take methane leaks more seriously, which if done can reduce the leaks enormously as seen in Norway.
@bhaumikgowande Copenhagen isn't all that large yet they could absolutely use some skyscrapers and they pay a hefty price to avoid them imo. Like... what's wrong with tall buildings? They let you make better use of valuable land.
@AlexRMcColl@UrbanCourtyard I found an article saying the top floor units sold for $25k per square meter. Most expensive unit sold for $4 million and the cheapest for $400k.
@mnolangray In Sweden if you get caught driving above the limit they take your license for 12 months instantly and tow your car. You might be allowed to drive if you get an alcohol interlock installed. And California's legal limit is four times higher than the Swedish one.
@Tesla_Dawg@Hilbe Why would we be satisfied by human standards of driving? Literally millions of people get killed by human drivers. The price of those other sensors have dropped like a rock, as things do once they start being mass produced so it's a big benefit for not much money.
@cornoisseur@mpopv The day they compete with caltrain on price on that route (if their costs ever get that low), the road would presumably be clogged completely. I hope cities become more receptive to congestion charges when the streets are dominated by self driving cars.
@jenzhuscott All the energy that is radiated away comes from the solar panels. Since GPU's run at higher temperatures than people and the heat radiated scales by T^4 the ratio of radiators to solar panels will be better for GPU's. So you would need much less radiator area than solar panels.
