@VedProag @fordnation @Tarion_ON Ford also promised me he'd take action on Tarion, and get his minister or chief of staff to call me. Promises, no action. Ford knows what needs to be done, but his gov't remains in hiding on this issue. We need a strong, vocal opposition. Where are @MaritStiles @BonnieCrombie ?

It's sad we have to pay for a service we never get. It's sad it's happening here in Canada and done by the government. @fordnation Ford texted me he will fix @Tarion_ON nothing yet.

In 2024 Tarion paid the Ministry $654,000 for "oversight".
That same ministry is responsible for consumer protection.
This arrangement feels like a racket. #onpoli

Why are "incentives" being paid to in-house lawyers at your agency Tarion? Is this a reward for denying claims or closing files? A government agency which lives off mandatory fees paid by all new home buyers needs better oversight @fordnation #onpoli

To be affordable, newly built homes need to at least meet the Code at the outset. That doesn't happen in far too many parts of Canada.

New home warranties in Ontario should be open to competition, and an insurance product. Not the confusing Tarion "administrator" model which has never convinced consumers it is independent of builders.

New home buyers are not well-served with the out-dated Tarion model. Consumers beware: Tarion is not a "title insurance" company either. @mediacorp "Best Employers GTA" list is inaccurate by characterzing Tarion as such.

@vickyrobinbaum @KyroMaseh But some of us can't afford existing home. When I bought my home, I chose new built because I didn't want to repair an existing home. Also I needed time to save more money.
