"Imagine that there was a pill you could take that would make you instantly healthier. It’s associated with lower blood pressure, improved heart health, reduced stress, and less depression. It strengthens your relationships, makes you more resilient, increases your sense of meaning in life, and helps your mental health.
On top of those incredible benefits, the pill doesn’t cost any money or have any negative side effects. People would be begging their doctors for a prescription. That pill exists, and it is called love." - The New Happy
Gentle reminder:
Please pay attention to how your body responds to people, how your emotions shift, how your energy changes, and what thoughts come up when you’re around them. Whether it’s something with them, or within yourself, may your intuition guide you and your boundaries.
Someday people will look back in disbelief that the medical field separated mental health from physical health, as though the brain was somehow an isolated organ, or that trauma and stress don’t impact physical health in the same ways they impact mental health.
When a student asks, “How could they have been so naïve?”, what do you think the professors will say?
@DrSuneelDhand When a gastroenterologist shared that they “don’t ask patients about their diets.” I see virtually nothing being implemented to improve health outcomes. Healthcare is based on pushing pharmaceuticals, and I don’t see medical students being taught otherwise or to think critically.
Your life is beautiful. Quit comparing yourself to this person or to that other person, their life is different than yours. Enjoy your life, focus on your wellbeing. The rest is noise, keep going.
