@LundukeJournal I started with Debian in 03 because it had the best package list/description. Fedora was a dumpster fire. Ubuntu was "easy Debian" (Dapper Drake). Moved to Mint when Ubuntu broke bad, then to Manjaro, then Pop OS with my System 76 box. Next, maybe CachyOS to evade rusty distros.

@yanabantai No, I started with Unix SVR3 right around the release of SVR4. Also used VMS on a Vax. Had my pick of terminals, and thought Sun SparcStations were cool. Unix shell was csh. First Linux was Debian in 03, over DSL, using jigdo to build the ISO image locally.
