Last week, I went deep into Caching for optimizing your AI costs. But this week, I am looking at Batching.
Batching is the simplest way to improve GPU utilization and throughput.
Traditional batching is suboptimal at best. I am looking at ways to improve in-flight batching and scheduling optimizations so that requests in a batch do not have to wait a long time to be generated because of a few time-consuming requests.

I have been going down a fairly deep rabbit hole over the last few months: the economics of AI agents.
How much they cost. What makes them financially viable at scale. How architecture changes the bill. Where incentives are aligned, where they are not, and how much control AI companies actually have over all of this.
Caching is one of the biggest levers I have found so far. It is also much less straightforward than I thought.
So I wrote an article and made it into a small game.
I give you statements about how your AI agent is built, you answer true or false, and by the end you should have a better sense of whether you are caching properly.
This is the first of what I hope will be many pieces on building more cost-aware AI agents and enterprises.
