@ChrisCillizza I suspect LA, like Chicago, NYC, Portland, Seattle, et. al. has ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ฏ - and is in full thrall of the widspread urban socialist movement and is probably beyond reach of pragmatic remediation.
@Zigmanfreud I donโt have an opinion about whether there were improprieties. Regardless,
What I suspect is LA, like Chicago, NYC, Portland, Seattle, et. al. has fallen - and is in full thrall of the widspread urban socialist movement and is probably beyond reach of pragmatic remediation.
@DavidBahnsen David, it appears the original comment was meant to include ALL who were in DC for the rallies, not limited to those who entered the Capitol building.
Are you of the view that one standing on the perimeter of the Capitol grounds waving a sign should also be arrested?
@DavidBahnsen While @BrianKempGA and @RonDeSantis have ๐ด๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ similarities, they have enough differences to not grouped in a single "type".
Kemp approach more like @purduemitch or @DougDucey
DeSantis is in a bolder unique space of his own between Reagan and Trump.
@MarkDavis I agree, Mark. Since 2012, DeSantis has made his bones as a politician.
The SecDef job woulda been intriguing had he been nominated for that.
But even with that, politically, being Trump adjacent is better for DeSantis' future than being a formal Trump lieutenant.
@whignewtons Your point contradicts @DavidAFrench 's worry about partisan gerrymandering being racism by another name.
"Gerrymandering" isn't to punish one race or privilege another.
The only thing which matters in districting is how many votes can our side get to the floor of the House?
@clintbrooks@greggnunziata@nytimes ๐ค one thinks of David Brooks as the quintessential quisling conservative at the NYT, who endorsed Obama long before Trump was disrupting the right.
French didn't just critique Trump, he publicly endorsed Kamala Harris. He, like Brooks before him, looks like he crossed over.
@clintbrooks@greggnunziata@nytimes 2A steadfastness, on the conservative side, long predates Trump. Heck, Trump himself is dubious on 2A.
But strangley, the "Trump effect" even causes erstwhile conservatives to abandon positions he has little interest in.
So, it's more than merely Anti-Trump.
@FLViper2014@RWMaloneMD@GovRonDeSantis@RonDeSantis@realDonaldTrump I think that is partly because they perceived their preferred Romney type (old-school establishment) wouldn't be competitive.
So, they conceded to back a "True North" conservative, type (which they failed to do in 2016 with Cruz).
@conservmillen You began an alternative explanation for the abortion numbers due to latency. Then the conversation turned elsewhere.
If abortion numbers rose under 45, it may be due to policies of the preceding Obama years.
Conversely, the Biden decline may be to the prior Trump policies.
