Yesterday evening I received my Covid-19 vaccine. Then I went to a frozen lake to dance Bhangra on it for joy, hope and positivity, which I'm forwarding across Canada and beyond for everyone's health and wellbeing.
Mexico's President #AMLO has praised the country's hospitals 🏥 & blamed people eating too much🍟🍩🧋 for why Covid-19 has hit the country so hard.
But, I found a scary trend of relatively healthy young people (35 to 55-years-old) dying before being connected to ventilators.
43,680 people have been confirmed to have died of Covid-19 in Mexico.
So far, President #AMLO's government has also tallied 71,315 "excess" deaths this year (compared to last year) in 20 states.

Among the patients aged 35-55 who have been confirmed to have died of Covid-19 in Mexico City only:
10.2% smoked
26.6% had hyper-tension
29% had asthma
30% had diabetes
and
31% were categorized as obese.
BUT,
55.7% WERE NEVER CONNECTED TO A VENTILATOR BEFORE THEY DIED!

Hey @Profeco como es posible que @MovistarMX me marca todo el tiempo y en una ocasión intento quitarme la línea con engaños , no dejan de acosarme en llamadas ... su apoyo porfavor
All of the people I see tweeting about the "sad" "waste" of Mexico City's cancelled, half-finished airport will be equally upset about this scandal right? And, AMLO will make serious efforts to fight corruption to prevent this from happening again?
A far better approach would be to recognize that the United States, Mexico, and Canada are individually stronger and more competitive when our economies are growing together... https://t.co/IKUquVEgpd
In my latest Q&A for Forbes I asked @ASCOA's @ericfarns if Mexico's next president is more likely to follow the example of public policy strategies pursued by recent governments in Chile or Venezuela. https://t.co/NQGhMYn6Be
Over the last few days I've seen a few desperate op-eds predicting that AMLO will lose Mexico's presidential election. I reached out to Council on Hemispheric Affairs fellow @mike_lettieri to discuss the election and its impact on Mexican politics https://t.co/CgUMAW7Ftn
