@bugsareppltoo@notinterextinq He didn’t have the time during COVID. He doesn’t have the time during PittFest either. And the Bradleys are so grateful to Robby by the time they leave for the honor walk. That ties into the patient satisfaction score issue.
@bugsareppltoo@notinterextinq He does those tests while seeing other patients. He wouldn’t have given that family so much time if the mass casualty had been going on at the same time. The point of that storyline is it shows the kind of doctor he is when he has the time.
@kurinohinohi@TheArtOfL0ss I doubt that, because Baran hasn’t met Robby yet and doesn’t really know what he’s like as an attending. That’s why she came in early, to see how he works.
@Chameleon777771@rogueorbits@robbys_toupee Becca’s entire arc is about her being an adult. She’s in a consensual sexual relationship and very happy, Langdon protects her medical privacy, she makes a point that her name isn’t “Mel’s sister.” That’s childlike to you?
@boywondqr@BARANAVITCH Abbot, Dana, Shen, Walsh, and Gloria all ask what’s going on with him in s1 too and Abbot and Dana say neither of them has seen him like this before.
@boywondqr You’re correct and I agree it’s great writing. I however hate men so I was liked and trusted Santos more immediately. I was 50/50 on if the was right about the drugs at first tho, I became more suspicious over time and was pretty sure by the time it was confirmed.
@MChill2000@BeAnEnigmaBR@necromancelor I’m not saying it’s necessary. I’m saying it’s by definition a form of community engagement. So arguing that people post fic for community engagement isn’t good argument against criticism. The original post was more about fic comments than social media.
@sanjistorrie Oh also Through the Long Night makes me think of Robby and Abbot. I’m a big Billy Joel fan lol but mentally unwell Jewish guys who love motorcycles is a niche
@sanjistorrie With You May Be Right it helps to know the background, the motorcycle verse really happened and the details are even worse. The people close to him really thought he was gonna die during that time.
@MChill2000@BeAnEnigmaBR@necromancelor Nope. It’s impossible to mindfully criticize a story without engaging with it. Engagement isn’t inherently positive, although mindful criticism usually comes from a positive place, it’s just not necessarily comfortable.
@lavendertheys Maybe she can work with a second attending but she hasn’t even proposed that to Gloria yet. She could be told they don’t have the budget for that. Then what is she supposed to do? Baran can run an ED, she can’t run an ED *right now*.
@lavendertheys She also wasn’t cleared by her neurologist, who never called her back. She saw the neurologist on call at PTMC who isn’t familiar with her history. We also don’t know exactly how Baran represented the situation to her, she was desperate by then.
@oldmanyaois Langdon probably figured out Whitaker is Robby’s new favorite, it’s not subtle. Langdon is Robby’s old favorite and I get the sense in s2 he now feels that his dynamic with Robby was not good for him.
@Sirens_Scales@dmnexppwp Want to add "write for yourself" is a double-edged sword which people who give that advice rarely acknowledge. Connecting with people is a healthier motive than achieving perfection. There's a benefit to writing others. It's a balance imo.
@Sirens_Scales@dmnexppwp That's a really good description of the craft! I enjoy the process and that's why I keep doing it, I'd do it if I had no internet access to entertain myself. I guess in a way I'm my first reader. I agree we all want people to love our work! For me it's the cherry on top.
@Sirens_Scales@dmnexppwp You're amazing too! I'm really impressed by how thoughtfully you've engaged with so many responses to this! It feels so rare to find people having conversations on the internet anymore and here you are!!
