What an absolute joy to be invited back to the @CommunityRail awards again this year. An evening celebrating incredible people, doing life changing things. 😍
Tonight I’m in Newcastle for the Community Rail Awards #CRA25! The people who bridge local support groups, volunteers, schools, charities - and the railway. They decorate, restore, educate, promote, rebuild, plant, tidy, support… they *always* give. Tonight is their night - and it’s a genuine privilege to meet so many people who put the heart back into the railway, and make it so much more than just a transport system. Community Rail groups change lives: in the most incredible, moving ways. I just cried when @fobs_seaford won an award (Bishopstone!) because I know how they’ve helped combat loneliness of so many by turning a disused building into a community asset. And tonight, there are a thousand stories like this from all over the railway, from thousands of wonderful, kind, skilful passionate people.
Presenters are @NEMartijn and Vicki Pipe @VickiExplores with @richardsalkeld … and apparently I’m due up on stage too shortly 🙊uhoh!
Can’t seem to find a consensus as to why Edinburgh Station is called ‘Waverley’. Is it named after a Walter Scott prose, is it the location council area, or is it named after Waverley Bridge? Any ideas internet peeps? #hivemind

My former workplace makes a historic discovery! I have such fond memories of working here. (It seems somehow apt / spooky that I would then go on to study Shakespearean theatre @The_Globe) https://t.co/1j6xoISPbo
