I’ve read numerous reports of how Venezuela’s interim authorities did not respond to this tragedy and have actively blocked aid from both national and international volunteers. Not only in Caracas, but across the interior of the country.

This is, without question, one of the issues I’ll raise most urgently today.

Humanitarian aid cannot be politicized. It must reach people through transparent, verifiable channels because in moments like this, corruption costs lives.
