Following our consultations on the @_AfricanUnion Convention on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (AU-CEVAWG), a consolidated civil society report is now ready. 🔖

The report captures findings and recommendations from a two-stage engagement process: a national virtual consultation convened in Uganda by @WomenProbono, @amwaafrika, @Uganetlaw, @CEDOVIPuganda, and FIDA-Uganda; and a regional breakout session held under @GimacNetwork.

Building on the voices and perspectives shared during these engagements, the report contributes to ongoing regional advocacy efforts aimed at strengthening protections, accountability, and coordinated action to end violence against women and girls across Africa.

Under the Partnerships on Accountability, Civic Engagement and Rights Project, supported by 🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇱🇮🇪, we conducted a two-day training for Community Legal Volunteers (CLVs) at the Terego District Headquarters.

Our team of facilitators delivered sessions on:
▪️ Children’s rights and GBV
▪️ Criminal justice processes and the role of CLVs
▪️ Harmful cultural practices affecting women and girls
▪️ Advocacy and empowerment through the power-walk exercise
▪️ The CLV model and MoU
▪️ FIDA-Uganda’s legal framework and the Partnerships on Accountability, Civic Engagement and Rights Project.

The sessions were interactive, practical, and highly engaging. Participants expressed appreciation for the knowledge shared and committed to applying it to promote justice and protect rights within their communities.
