We have 11 students in Nashville, TN right now for the HOSA International Leadership Conference. The conference is off to a great start, with a GLOWING opening ceremony! 🤩 Good luck to all who are competing this week! #SuccessReady

The evening wrapped up with the Champions Festival at Centennial Olympic Park. There was a DJ, lots of food trucks, and several inflatables for the kids to have fun on. Great way to relax after two days of intense competition!

SkillsUSA Nationals, Day 3 - Thursday

The biggest day of the week so far - Competition Day! The students got started working on their newscast just after 11 AM, then spent two hours writing, refining, and practicing it before going into the studio to record it. @pentacareerctr

After they were finished, we headed back to the hotel for the students to grab something to eat, wind down, and relax! The team got the opportunity to meet Sydney St. Andre, a DVP graduatefrom 2014 who is a freelance video producer and computer consultant in Atlanta!

SkillsUSA Nationals, Day 1 - Tuesday

Our Broadcast News Production team had their orientation for their competition (and the rapid transit system!) in the morning, followed by a trip to the Georgia Aquarium in the afternoon!

The evening was the exciting Opening Ceremony with over 16,000 in attendance! The ceremony ended with a performance by Light Balance! Em & Tucker got in some pin trading in the subway station on the way back to our hotel.

DVP did it again at SkillsUSA States! Our Broadcast News team got Gold, and Audio/Radio Production got Silver! I’ll be heading down to Atlanta with the BNP team June 20th. So proud of all my students, and the new Awards Ceremony video we made this year!

Carsyn Tussing, who produced the Awards segments graphics and animation, and Mishy Al-Shabanah and James Matz for helping to produce the Awards segments. Em Book also received an award for assisting with the location production.

The Digital Video Production program was presented a Gold Addy award for producing the Toledo Ad Club’s 2022 Addy Awards presentation entitled “Worth It!” Individual awards were presented to Corey Channell, who created the opening video and produced the entire 75 minute video,
