@coalcountrywvu @HorsemenPod You must expand the playoff to 24 if you want ESPN's monopoly to go away. That's too much inventory for them to cover. It works for the FCS and every other level of football. Only 15% of teams make the cut, which is lower than the NFL, FCS, high school, etc.

@coalcountrywvu @HorsemenPod Blow up the P4. Make it a P8 based on legacy conferences and regional rivalries. Expand the CFP to 24 teams. Conference winners get auto-bids (#1-8). 2nd vs. 3rd place CFP eliminator replaces Conference championships. Top G6 team, plus the next highest-ranked 7 teams get in.

Cap conferences at 10, make it a Power 8. Bring back the Big East, old Pac-10, SWC, etc. Winner gets in and 2 vs. 3 for the final CFP spot in each conference.

@honusperk The problem is 16+ team conferences, where schedules are incredibly imbalanced.

Blow everything up. Power 8 with 10-team leagues. Everyone plays everyone. Instead of conference championship games, 2 and 3 play for the right to be in the CFP.
