However, there is no scenario in America where resisting arrest while being armed will end well.

January 24, 2026… Minneapolis.

Alex Jeffrey Pretti, 37, a U.S. citizen, knowingly approached federal officers during an active DHS enforcement operation.

His parents warned him not to engage. He ignored them.

Pretti arrived armed with a 9mm pistol equipped with an optic and carried multiple magazines totaling roughly 30 to 51 rounds.

That is not casual carry. That is combat preparation.

He did not bring his ID or carry permit. In Minnesota, lawful carry requires both.

He physically engaged officers and resisted attempts to disarm him.

Agents deployed pepper spray and took him to the ground.

A firearm was recovered from his person.

An agent fired defensive shots. Pretti was killed.

Federal officials classified the act as a domestic extremist threat based on intent, equipment, and behavior.

An investigation is ongoing.

Those are the facts.
