@bhavinj Agree completely. Needs a rebiopsy and the faster it can be scheduled the better. If interventional radiology can schedule it ASAP, would attempt that first. In cases like this where first attempt is negative, a case can be made to have a thoracic surgeon obtain more tissue.

“Act now” on global vaccines to stop more-dangerous variants, experts warn Biden - The Washington Post. Virus sees no borders, no politics and will continue to get stronger. Let’s do what we can every day to prevent the evolution. https://t.co/0D0pvgAYbH
#VaccinesWork vs Delta
A summary table I put together for vaccine protection from the Delta variant from publications and preprints.
5 vaccines—neutralizing antibodies well above threshold (lab studies)
3 vaccines—clinical effectiveness

A small study of 96 patients treated for COVID (32% hospitalized). But indeed striking.
At 12 mos, the most common symptoms were reduced exercise capacity (54/96), fatigue (51/96), shortness of breath (36/96), concentration problems (38/96) and problems finding words (31/96).
About half of adults infected in an outbreak of the Delta variant in Israel were fully inoculated with the Pfizer vaccine. It’s critical to watch the trend in the number of cases as a portion of those vaccinated may still be susceptible to infection. https://t.co/lVzy3WPsNx
Both UK and Israel are seeing a rise in COVID cases. These are vaccinated populations where the variants are on the rise. We need to start thinking about how to adapt to this change in the US.
Agree completely. It’s critical that we vaccinate as many people as possible (globally) to prevent continued evolution of this RNA virus. Geographic boundaries do not matter to the virus.
"The fact it has happened twice in 18 months, two lineages (Alpha and then Delta) each 50% more transmissible is a phenomenal amount of change"—@ArisKatzourakis

@JavleMilind A role model. An academic physician who moved the field forwards. A leader with vision & compassion. I am thankful to god for having had the good fortune to have known her. She will live on in the hearts of all lives she touched. If that is not immortality, I don’t know what is.

A person infected has the potential to spread just by the face-to-face contact of speaking, as shown via artificial smoke and laser light between 2 persons. Mask plus face shield helped in this study
