Nirmala Sitharaman made a fundamental error in reading the post-Covid market rally.

What she saw was extraordinary returns and assumed it was validation of the government's economic policies. What actually happened was simpler. The market had priced in the end of the world in March 2020 and then realised humanity would survive. That rebound was not a policy outcome. It was mathematics.

She taxed a rebound as if it were a boom.

Higher LTCG. Higher STCG. STT increase. All landing at the same time that the rupee was in free fall against the dollar, quietly eroding real returns for every investor even before tax.

And then the FIIs left. Not because India's story changed but because the math stopped working for them. Higher taxes plus a weakening currency plus global uncertainty equals one outcome.

They pulled out.

The tragic part is that domestic retail investors kept their SIPs running through all of this. Month after month. Trusting the process. Their money flowing in while FII money was flowing out. They were essentially providing an exit for institutional money at diminishing returns.

There is still time to course correct.
India is a growth market. Growth markets need capital. Capital needs incentive. Taxing stock market gains at the rates we currently have is not revenue generation. It is capital repulsion.

Reduce LTCG. Scrap STT. Give retail investors a reason to stay invested beyond just patriotism.
Because patriotism does not compound. Returns do

Our rural school Kalaivani Kalvi Maiyam, which provides completely free education to rural children, faced delays getting approvals from the previous government. Of course, significant money was demanded and we were told that was the only way, even if it is a completely free school.

After @TVKVijayHQ came to power, approvals have happened quickly and automatically.

I am very happy to appreciate this positive development in our state. Thank you Thiru Vijay Avl for this refreshing change🙏

சமீப காலமாக தமிழகத்தில் அதிகரித்து வரும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு எதிரான பாலியல் குற்றங்கள் வேதனை அளிக்கிறது. திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டம், கும்மிடிப்பூண்டியில் பாலியல் வன்கொடுமை செய்யப்பட்டு முட்புதரில் வீசப்பட்ட மூன்று வயது குழந்தை சிகிச்சை பலனின்றி உயிரிழந்த சம்பவம் சொல்லொணாத் துயத்திற்கு ஆளாக்கி இருப்பதோடு இது, இச்சமூகம் பேரழிவை நோக்கிச் சென்றுகொண்டிருக்கிறது என்பதற்கான அச்சுறுத்தலாகவும் இருப்பது பெரும் கவலையளிக்கிறது.

தேசிய குற்றவியல் ஆவணக் காப்பக அறிக்கையின்படி இந்தியாவில் கடந்த 2022ஆம் ஆண்டில் மட்டும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு எதிரான பாலியல் குற்ற வழக்குகள் 8.7 சதவீதம் அதிகரித்துள்ளதாகத் தெரிவிக்கிறது. தமிழகத்தில் குழந்தைகளுக்கு எதிரான பாலியல் வன்முறைகள் தொடர்ந்து அதிகரித்துவருவது பெரும் அச்சத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது. தமிழக அரசின் சமீபத்திய தரவுகள் 69 சதவீத குழந்தைகள் உடல்ரீதியான பாதிப்பிற்கு உள்ளாகுகின்றனர் என்றும், அதில் 48.7 சதவீதம் குடும்ப உறுப்பினர்களாலும், 34 சதவீதம் பிறராலும் நிகழ்த்தப்படுவதாகச் சுட்டிக்காட்டுகின்றன.

மேலும், இந்தியாவில் 2019 முதல் 2022 வரையிலான காலகட்டத்தில் குழந்தைகள் மீதான பாலியல் வன்கொடுமைகள் 96 சதவீதம் வரை அதிகரித்துள்ளதாக 'Child Rights and You' அமைப்பு சுட்டிக்காட்டி இருக்கிறது. போக்சோ சட்டத்தின் கீழ் கைது செய்யப்படும் குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு குறைந்தபட்சமாகப் பத்து ஆண்டுகள் சிறைத்தண்டனை வழங்கப்படும் நிலையில், காவல்துறையின் மெத்தனமான விசாரணை, குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு எளிதில் பிணை கிடைப்பது மற்றும் வழக்குகளின் நீண்டகால தாமதம் போன்றவை தொடர் குற்றங்கள் நிகழ்வதற்கு வழிவகுக்கின்றன. எனவே, பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு எதிரான பாலியல் வன்முறைகளைத் தடுக்கவும், பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு உரிய நீதியை உறுதி செய்யவும்,

தலைமையிலான தமிழக அரசு @CMOTamilnadu உடனடியாகக் கீழ்க்கண்ட நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

1.பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் மீதான பாலியல் வன்முறைகள் அதிகரித்து வருவதற்கான சமூகக் காரணிகளைக் கண்டறிய, இத்துறையில் தொடர்ந்து செயல்பட்டு வரும் சமூகச் செயற்பாட்டாளர்கள், உளவியல் நிபுணர்கள், கல்வியாளர்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் உரிமை ஆர்வலர்களை ஒருங்கிணைத்து ஒரு சிறப்பு ஆய்வுக் குழுவை அமைக்க வேண்டும். அக்குழு அளிக்கும் பரிந்துரைகளைக் காலக்கெடுவுடன் நடைமுறைப்படுத்த தமிழக அரசு உறுதியளிக்க வேண்டும்.

2.‘சிங்கப்பெண்’ திட்டத்தின் கீழ் பணியமர்த்தப்பட்டவர்களின் அதிகார வரம்பு மற்றும் செயல்பாட்டு பொறுப்புகள் குறித்து அண்மையில் எழுந்துள்ள குழப்பங்களுக்கு அரசு தெளிவான விளக்கம் அளிக்க வேண்டும். அதோடு, பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு எதிரான பாலியல் குற்றங்களைக் கையாள ஒவ்வொரு மாவட்டத்திலும் சிறப்புப் பயிற்சி பெற்ற பெண் காவலர்களின் எண்ணிக்கையைக் கணிசமாக உயர்த்த வேண்டும்.

3.பெண்கள் &குழந்தைகள் மீதான பாலியல் குற்றங்கள் தொடர்பான வழக்குகளை விரைவாக விசாரிக்க, ஒவ்வொரு மாவட்டத்திலும் சிறப்பு நீதிமன்றங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையை அதிகரித்து, குறிப்பிட்ட காலக்கெடுவுக்குள் தீர்ப்பு வழங்கும் நடைமுறையை உறுதி செய்ய வேண்டும்.

4. குழந்தைகள் மற்றும் இளைஞர்களுக்கான பாதுகாப்பான இணையப் பயன்பாடு, இணைய வழி பாலியல் சுரண்டல், இணைய மிரட்டல் போன்றவற்றைத் தடுக்கும் வகையில் பள்ளி மற்றும் கல்லூரி மாணவர்களுக்குத் தொடர்ச்சியான விழிப்புணர்வு பயிற்சிகள் வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
5.பாலியல் வன்முறைக்கு ஆளான குழந்தைகள் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் விசாரணைக்கு உட்படுத்தப்படாமல், குழந்தை நட்பு விசாரணை மையங்கள் (Child-Friendly Investigation Centres) மாவட்டந்தோறும் அமைக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
6.பாலியல் வன்முறைகளைத் தடுக்க பள்ளி நிலை முதலே "மரியாதையான உறவுகள்" (Respectful Relationships), சமத்துவம், சம்மதம் (Consent), பாலின மரியாதை மற்றும் வன்முறையற்ற உறவுகள் குறித்த கல்வியைப் பாடத்திட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக அறிமுகப்படுத்த வேண்டும். ஆஸ்திரேலியாவில் இதற்காக செயல்படுத்தப்படும் Respectful Relationships Education போன்ற திட்டங்கள் பள்ளி சூழலில் பாலின மரியாதை மற்றும் வன்முறைத் தடுப்பு கல்வியை வலுப்படுத்துகின்றன.

கல்வி, சமூக மாற்றம், தொழில்நுட்ப கண்காணிப்பு, மனநல ஆதரவு, விரைவு நீதி மற்றும் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு மனித கண்ணியத்துடன் மறுவாழ்வு வழங்கும் ஒருங்கிணைந்த அரசுக் கொள்கை அவசியம். உலகின் பல நாடுகள் குற்றத்திற்குப் பிந்தைய தண்டனையை மட்டுமல்ல, குற்றம் நடைபெறாத சூழலை உருவாக்குவதிலேயே அதிக கவனம் செலுத்தி வெற்றி கண்டுள்ளன. தமிழக அரசு விரைவான நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொண்டு, பெண்கள், குழந்தைகளுக்கான பாதுகாப்பான சமூகத்தை உருவாக்குவதில் முன்னுதாரணமாகத் திகழ வேண்டும் என நீலம் பண்பாட்டு மையம் வலியுறுத்துகிறது.

அறப்போர் தொடரும்..

I don't know if corruption can be completely eliminated, but I am confident it can be significantly reduced. Right now, it has become part of the mainstream public discourse in Tamil Nadu.

​Every corrupt politician and government official will be watching these developments closely. Over time, increased public awareness will make them hesitate to demand bribes.

​Critics claim this is just a gimmick by Chief Minister Vijay’s government. However, even assuming it is a gimmick, once you kickstart this process among the public and they lose their fear of refusing bribes, it escapes political control. Even if a government later wants to stop the momentum, it would no longer be within their power to do so.

​Once things get started, they take on a life of their own.
