@birder_l@PondManUK Both families are common, you would expect to find species from both in most ponds. Corixidae is a far larger and more complex family than Notonectidae, with a lot more species diversity and is quite a more bit challenging for Identification to species.
We have now completed over 100 bat activity surveys since 1st May and last night was arguably the most spectacular. Over 20 noctule bats were closely observed foraging at a site near Leconfield, E. Yorks. @_BCT_@Mammal_Society@MammalNextDoor@BBCSpringwatch@EYBG1
We have submitted all our 2023 bat records to the local data centres and our team have observed 1640 roosting bats at 56 sites. Notable roosts were 419 soprano pipistrelles in York and 219 soprano pipistrelles in Bolton Abbey. @_BCT_@TeamNEYEDC@GLNPnature@NBNTrust
