Small tweaks matter. This new 100’ two-way 8th Ave link for westbound cyclists along 13th to Meatpacking / Hudson River continues the 13th Street lane around Jackson Sq, via a protected block of Greenwich Ave, codifying what was a very clear desire line. #BikeNYC@bikenewyork
Three new pandemic era subway ridership records the past few days: highest total on Friday and best Saturday and Sunday.
3.1 million weekday riders is on par with the early 1990s now, and Saturday’s ridership was 2/3 of a pre-pandemic late September Saturday.
Next week @NYCCouncil will hear legislation on civilian enforcement of parking violations. We’ve watched placard abuse continue without accountability for far too long — it’s time to put power directly in the hands of residents.

Pretty basic messages cyclists are sending de Blasio, enforce the existing traffic laws, build more bike lanes, treat biking as a serous form of transportation.
For most people, driving isn't a choice, it's a non-negotiable fact of life. We need to change the structures that encourage and entrench driving in cities and bring real transportation independence—the freedom not to drive—to more people.

Our riders depend on safe streets each and every day, and the sharp rise in cyclist deaths this year is heartbreaking.
We support this important action and encourage all of #BikeNYC to show up in solidarity next week.

"I didn’t have to post anything other than telling a few people in the cycling community that I had this account. And it just kind of happened — because it needed to happen." https://t.co/odQN8ur4BA
