If you use this type of plastic utensils, throw them away and get stainless utensils instead. If you have non-stick cookware, you can use wooden spoons instead. The edges of the plastic utensils melt under heat especially when frying, and it gets into your food. You are eating plastic pieces.

Lagos is building a Food Security Systems and Logistics Hub at Ketu-Ereyun, Epe, Lagos.

This will allow the bulk purchase of food and its storing and distribution

Let's explain its benefits: during tomato season, Lagos State and other buyers will buy tomatoes in bulk and at lower prices and store

After harvest, prices of tomatoes rise as supply falls, but with this logistic set-up, Lagos and other private owners can sell/distribute stored tomatoes throughout the year, meaning food inflation is reduced

LAGOS State is also linking this Central hub with smaller subhubs

This is what Nigeria lacks: a functional cold chain. Nigeria has some private firms in the warehousing and logistics space; UAC had MDS. I believe they were the largest in Nigeria back then. The USAID tried to build a functional cold chain from Lagos to Kano to Jibiya in Katsina/Niger not sure of the success so far, but this is the first I have seen in Nigeria by a State Government

This is forward-thinking; it is food security, but it is also fighting inflation

My advice to other States? Ask Lagos for this blueprint and copy it even at a small scale

Especially in the States that grow the crops invest in your value chain, its then easier to earn Value Added Tax
