Really excited to share this publication. Check out the @IAVCEI_INVOLC and @IAVCEI_official guidelines for international collaboration in volcano science! 🌋🌋🌋
Hello 🌋 folks! We've been quiet but now have something to share:
@IAVCEI_official guidelines for international collaboration in volcanology! Open access and easily transferable to other fields 🤗

*Call for feedback*!! We drafted some Best-Engagement Protocols for International Collaboration, and which can be viewed on: https://t.co/DHVkMZMdDw If you'd like to provide comments, please do so on the VHub forum. We aim to finalise the protocols in early 2023.
How inclusive do you think volcanology is? In our new preprint, we tried one way of looking at it. We investigated how often locally affiliated authors are included in or lead research about volcanoes in their own countries. #volcano#inclusion

#DRRday (13 Oct) is a chance to reflect on how we can better achieve resilience through international cooperation.
#OnlyTogether can we save the planet, prevent crises and ensure no one gets left behind.
Here's how to join our campaign: https://t.co/jZr8rqmlPM
The theme for IDRR Day is 'International cooperation for developing countries to reduce their disaster risk and disaster losses' and we choose to again highlight the regional and international partners who assisted during the eruption of La Soufriere, SVG.

Parachute science is a real and growing issue. As this article notes with COVID-19 vaccinations on the rise (especially for those in wealthy countries) and restrictions easing, travel plans will be growing and those with privilege will be first off the block.
Fantastic guidance on doing genuine (as opposed to 'apparent') collaborative work with colleagues in other countries. Always true but particularly relevant for those in resource-constrained settings, or those dealing with geological hazard events.

Alrightie then. Finally added the Prof, I have a PhD (Dr) and then I got promoted, for being good at it.
I use the titles when needed because I earned them. I’m proud of it. Now adding them here. Seems it’s needed.
Awesome workshop by Dr. Christina Magill @riskykiwi on hazard and risk modelling this week. Dr. Magill's visit to UWI-SRC was supported by the TWAS @TWASnews visiting expert program to collaborate with @uwiseismic and @mvoms on developing risk models for the Caribbean
Enrollment is now open for the free online course run by @INASPinfo for scientists in Low- & Middle- Income countries wishing to learn more about about research writing @VolcKaren @VolcanoVicki
