Nice. Now can we also do lowering the voting age to 16 along with 5 or 6 dozen other common-sense charter reforms for @LACity too so that voters can improve Los Angeles even more for all Angelenos this November? #16ToVote#VoteAt16

A message from TakingITGlobal's Executive Director, Jennifer Corriero:
"TakingITGlobal has supported Vote16 since it first emerged as a concept in 2009. And the reason is simple: expanding voting rights strengthens an inclusive democracy.
Expanding voting rights to include 16 and 17 year old citizens isn't about partisanship. It’s about participation within an inclusive democracy. It’s about recognizing that young people are already engaged in their communities, already affected by policies, and already capable of forming informed opinions. Giving citizens the right to vote starting at the age of 16 will bring them into the democratic process at an earlier stage in life, supporting the likelihood of lifelong civic participation.
We encourage you to check it out the resources at https://t.co/qNulnd9b3X to learn more about Bill S-222, and most importantly, share your voice with Senators to help this move forward in our lifetime!"

"As the upper chamber debates the Vote 16 Act, the second reading vote will reveal whether this momentum is strong enough to secure Parliament’s first dedicated, exclusive study of youth enfranchisement."

Jayden Paquet-Noiseux défend Vote16 dans Sur le Vif:

I just wanted to personally thank Commissioner @cfuentesrun for the effort to introduce a motion to clarify the Charter Language at yesterday's Charter Reform Commission. Although it didn't pass, we still want to pass on our gratitude for the motion to empower young Angelenos.
Attn: Los Angeles! ⚠️ Mar 17th 📅 We need YOU 💜 Come give comments to the LA Charter Reform Commission! We've had major success getting single-winner RCV taken up by LA City Council, but the BIG change we really want to see is PROPORTIONAL RCV !!
