The discourse around Graham Planter, "sexting" and adultery is surreal.

In the 1990s, Bill Clinton was revealed to be a serial adulterer, womanizer and harasser, yet Dems won the 1998 midterms in the middle of the Lewinsky scandal and his approval ratings stayed high because nobody cared (feminist groups vehemently defended him). Every four years, Dems gave him a standing ovation at the DNC and still do.

Then the GOP rallied behind Trump, whose major identity was as a tabloid figure who serially and openly cheated on all of his multiple wives while they were all at home raising his young children. He paid hush money to a porn star! MAGA is now enamored with Ken Paxton, a confessed serial adulterer, who Trump endorsed and whom MAGA is trying to empower in the Senate.

Who has the clean hands to pretend with a straight face that Graham Platner's sexting -- which his wife has forgiven -- is "disqualifying" in the modern political era?
