@terrychristian It is so misguided to blame immigration for the problems within our country. Those who find life here so intolerable should migrate somewhere else themselves and see how tough that really is.
By the way, there is nothing in life’s contract that says everything has to be fair!!

@MontefioreD @BartsHospital While agreeing with the beliefs of the greatness of Barts it is worth reflecting that Pepys did not have surgery in the hospital which was only for the poor nor the wealthy like Pepys!
And it was a bladder stone not a gallstone removed in a house nearby
Wonderful dinner the other night in the Guildhall to celebrate the Foundation of Barts Hospital 900 years ago; seen here with my two sons and our ‘significant others’!!
@DrLindseyFitz Discovered by Guthrie in America in 1831. He named it Sweet whiskey and used it to set a broken arm in a child!! Next time you are in Chicago go and see the Guthrie Boulder that commemorates this discovery!
Just finished reading this book and learnt so much about surgeons who influenced Gillies. Slightly disappointed that contributions made by anaesthesia were minimised but I am very biased!! Great read
