The biggest threat to excellence is complacency.
Everyone tells you to "stay hungry" and "work hard", but no one shows you how to actually fight it.
Most people think it's just about effort - it's not.
Here's how elite teams eliminate complacency and why it matters:π§΅
Whitney Bays, a former standout at Maryland and Purdue, has been named the new head coach of the women's basketball team at West Virginia State University. Bays, a native of West Virginia, brings an impressive record of success to her new role - including winning two Gatorade Player of the Year awards in high school, setting a record for rebounding average at Purdue, and earning MVP honors overseas.
As a coach, Bays has achieved success at every program she's been a part of, guiding Gardner-Webb to a 29-5 season and a conference title, as well as developing talented players at Memphis State. She takes on her new position at WVSU after a successful 18-13 season for the Lady Yellow Jackets, and she plans to continue building on that momentum. Bays has expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead a program with a strong tradition and a commitment to developing champions both on and off the court.

βEveryone you play against is going to have the will to win. The most important thing is to have the will to prepare to win. Preparation to win is much more important than the will to win. But if you combine the preparation and the will, I get chills thinking about it,β Mike Krzyzewski
