Roundtable policy report 📑 Ensuring underserved groups are represented in #MaternalHealth research
‘To provide safe & effective care through research… it is critical that we engage, partner with & listen to mothers from varied backgrounds’
@NIHRBhamBRC @DHLNetwork
Truly honoured to have won the Herbert Reiss prize for my oral presentation @ RSM @RCObsGyn Academic Meeting 🏆
It was a great privilege to talk about race & ethnicity in global women’s health
Thank you to my supportive mentors & the organising committee for an inspiring event
The @BirminghamBRC Women’s Metabolic Health theme had its launch today, with @thangaratinam providing an overview of ambitions ahead of research talks on #PCOS over the life course, experimental science & adrenal disorders. We also welcomed Hildas #PPIE partners & did a lab tour!
Women’s Health Research | We’re so proud of Prof @arricoomarasamy who recently received an OBE recognising his research in miscarriage & severe bleeding in childbirth. #KingsBirthdayHonors @IMSR_UoB @WHOCCGWH@tommysbham https://t.co/vg24aXgPPV

🌍🤰🏽💪 One year on and Elly Charity fondly recalls our involvement in the Global Women's Health Research Society (GLOW) Conference.
Committed to promoting and protecting women’s health, we find immense pride in supporting and participating in such impactful events.
The @GLOW_Conference, hosted by the @WHOCCGWH Women’s Health and supported by the @The_MRC was an inspiring event. With additional partnerships including #EllyCharity, @ammalife & @CSafeTrial every individual and organisation that attended brought their unique expertise and passion to accelerate advancements in global women's health.
A special thanks to our Trustee @thangaratinam whose dedication and relentless efforts were crucial to making the in person conference a memorable reality.
Check out the hand-drawn visuals from @ImagineerCiC capturing the energy, discussions, and attendees at the event!

Huge congratulations to @EmotiveTrial Chief Investigator, Prof Arri Coomarasamy, on being awarded an OBE in recognition of his work in helping women and families through his research @arricoomarasamy@unibirmingham@news_ub @IMSR_UoB @unibirm_MDS @WHOCCGWH 🎉👏
Funded by @gatesfoundation, the @EmotiveTrial cluster randomised trial showed an immense 60% reduction in severe postpartum haemorrhage after vaginal delivery, reducing the risk of haemorrhage-related maternal death @NEJM#ICTD2023 https://t.co/qifx13QwBA
This study was published this week in @NEJM and presented at the international maternal health conference #IMNHC2023.
Congratulations to all involved: @gatesfoundation @unibirm_MDS @WHOCCGWH#MaternalHealth

We’re so proud to have supported @arricoomarasamy, @adam_devall and the @EmotiveTrial team in developing their Postpartum Haemorrhage clinical trial to rapidly identify and address potentially dangerous post birth bleeding, the biggest cause of maternal deaths worldwide.
Good news: a new trial to manage postpartum bleeding shows highly promising results. This could represent a major breakthrough in reducing maternal deaths. #HealthForAll

Postpartum haemorrhage affects ~24 million women per year and is the leading cause of #maternalmortality worldwide. This study finds that the condition can be identified and treated quicker by using a low-cost drape to measure blood loss and bundling @WHO recommended treatments.
I’m very encouraged by the E-MOTIVE Trial results released today at #IMNHC2023 to treat postpartum hemorrhage, the #1 cause of maternal mortality. This new approach led by @unibirmingham and @WHO could drastically improve women’s chances of surviving childbirth globally. https://t.co/5rLoflpcv0
