Today is a big day for @WHO_HQ_Interns ! For the first time in @WHO history, interns are getting a subsistence allowance. Our first 3 interns of 2020 have received daily lunch vouchers, a value card with CHF 56 per day, and medical insurance. Thanks @DrTedros. @DrSenait

As @DrTedros read out all the countries us interns come from and said how much diversity has increased this cycle due to the stipend, I could not contain my joy and passion for this work. Every day, I get to learn from people from all of the globe - truly beautiful and humbling.

My internship has made it unbelievably clear how committed @WHO staff are to save lives and improve heath equity. I see it in their actions and hard work every day, not just in the words we hear in the media.

@DrTedros advises interns to not take criticism personally. Work stress only gets triggered when we take things personally. No matter how much criticism we get, we need to take and analyze each point of criticism, listen carefully to all feedback & keep an open perspective

@DrTedros emphasizes that no matter what, we need to stay true to ourselves. Be transparent. Speak the truth. This is the only thing that allows a clean conscience & internal peace, despite the chaos on the outside ... This is why @DrTedros seems invincible 🙏

@DrTedros speaks about the value of life... at @WHO we need to ask “Why am I here?” - To save lives. Even if it’s one life. People are not numbers or figures. We need to WANT TO go the extra mile for all lives.

The world is divided. As the world continues to not work together, the more this pandemic will wreck havoc. Everyone must treat life as precious, work together and we can overcome many challenges. @DrTedros calls for all leaders to be humble, just as he strives to be every day.
